Hairy Bikers’ Si King broke his silence on social media tonight since the news of Dave Myers’ death was announced last week.
Myers died after a two year battle with cancer, leaving King to release a lengthy statement on their joint Instagram account.
After paying tribute to his friend and co-star, King asked their fans to “allow Lili, his wife, his family, close friends and I some time and some peace to process out huge loss. I am sure I will see you all soon.”
Their BBC series Hairy Bikers Go West continued tonight and saw the duo in north-west Wales, discovering a host of inspiring local producers who typify the area’s rich diversity.
King and the Hairy Bikers team posted for the first time since Myers’ death and pleaded with their long-term fans to continue to enjoy the “magical series”.
Alongside an image of the pair in front of a steam train, the caption read: “The next episode of ‘Go West’ is on @bbctwo tonight.
“Despite such sad times we know that Dave would have wanted you to continue to enjoy the magical series that he shot with Si last year.
“We’d like to thank everyone from all over the world, who has reached out with messages of love and support over the last few days. Every one of them has been read and truly appreciated.”
During the latest episode, King and Myers met Maggie, a Nigerian kitchen chef whose spicy West African dishes were heating up the village of Penygroes.
They also met Steff, whose love of travel inspire him to open his own specialty coffee shop 10 years ago, as well as Matt and Jenny who grow food by replicating the ecosystems found in the wild.

Last week it was revealed that the BBC were going to continue airing the series despite the death of Myers.
Strictly Come Dancing star Tyler West confirmed the news last week that the BBC had no intention of stopping the series.
He explained: “The series will continue, The Hairy Bikers Go West, they filmed it last year. It’s currently airing and it will plan to go out as normal on Tuesday.
“He [Myers] thinks his illness could stop him from riding his beloved motorcycles, but the thing about their shows is that it's so much more about food, it was so much more than that.

“It was about friendship at the heart of every single thing they did and without a doubt, this last episode meant the world to them.”
King previously admitted that he would “probably quit” as he wouldn’t want to make shows that he and Myers used to make together.
“That would be it. I wouldn’t have it in my heart and soul, we were the Hairy Bikers. He’s like my brother,” he told the Daily Express
