The Hairy Bikers star died in February 2024 after battling cancer for two years

Dave Myers and his wife Liliana Orzac tied the knot in 2011 after first meeting back in 2005 during the first Hairy Bikers series in Eastern Europe.

Now, the widow recently gave an update on how she has been coping since his death.

Myers died after a two-year cancer battle, with the news being announced via a lengthy Instagram post by his long-term friend and co-star Si King, which read: "Hi everyone, I’m afraid I bear some sad news.

"Most of you will know Dave has been fighting cancer for the past couple of years. Last night, on 28th February 2024, with Lili, Dave’s wife, his family, close friend David and myself by his side, he passed away peacefully at home.

"May I ask you all for one further kindness and allow Lili, his wife, his family, close friends and I some time and some peace to process our huge loss. I am sure I will see you all soon. Love Si x."

Thousands were left devastated at the news of his passing, with many tributes being left from industry friends and fans of the duo, giving their condolences to the family.

A few days later, Orzac published a statement on the death of her husband via the Hairy Bikers' official Instagram page which read: "I will never be able to thank you all enough for the massive wave of love, compassion and care that you have shown towards me, Simon and our families in these past days since Dave passed.

"I want you all to know that I have read every single message and comment that you sent… your stories about Dave, your feelings you shared with me mean a lot and my heart is filled with gratitude and love.

"My husband, David Myers was a larger-than-life character and he did everything with passion, enthusiasm and generosity of spirit. His energy was endless when it came to cooking and talking recipes, or biking and talking bikes.

"An amazing storyteller! And through his stories and TV appearances, he was constantly inspiring and encouraging people to cook, travel, to live their life to the fullest. I feel I’m grieving with a whole nation… and this is something special." (sic)

Orzac has been quiet over the last couple of months as the family navigates their way through life without Myers.

However, she recently admitted that she does not consider herself a widow and often still speaks to Myers.

"I don’t consider myself a widow… I don’t like the word. I’m Dave’s wife. He’s still everywhere in our house. I talk to him all the time," she told the Daily Mail.

She added: "This was a man who was at his happiest around our table – in every house we lived in we had a huge table that seated around 10 or 12. He lit up a room anyway – the man burned with creativity, with interest in everyone.

"But his passion for life came through particularly when he was cooking for someone, for everyone. My husband served up love on a plate."

During his cancer battle, Myers unfortunately lost his sense of taste, something that Orzac described as being "so upsetting" due to the BBC star being known for his appetite.

King and Orzac have still been meeting up and recently shared a video together on Instagram, where they thanked those who got involved and celebrated "Dave's Day."

King also took a short break from social media to grieve the loss of his friend and business partner, but he recently returned and shared a huge update with all Hairy Bikers fans.

Due to Myers' passing, King ultimately decided that the brand of The Hairy Bikers was over, and told The Guardian: "It can’t be the Hairy Bikers 2.0. That’s not going to happen. It wouldn’t be respectful.

"It’s definitely a time of change and change comes at a cost and that cost has been my best friend. What was wonderful about my mate Dave was that he absolutely embraced the moment.

"He used to drive me mad. I’d tell him to say something negative for a bit, but he just loved being a Hairy Biker."
