The star has been somewhat quiet on social media since the scandal

Former MasterChef host Gregg Wallace has shared cryptic social media posts about "reflection" and "making a promise" amid his recent return to the public eye.

The TV presenter posted a photograph of a scenic sky view on Sunday, writing: "Sunday can be a time for reflection. Perhaps make ourselves a promise for next week."

This follows his Saturday night post featuring an image of two women, where he wrote: "We often want to change but fear it. We feel comfort in routine, even if that routine is harmful. We shouldn't be afraid of asking for help."

The posts come with a musical backdrop of Sting's "Fragile" accompanying images of the London skyline.

Wallace's return to social media comes after stepping back from MasterChef following allegations of sexual misconduct from 13 individuals, including Newsnight presenter Kirsty Wark.

The 60-year-old presenter initially resurfaced on the platform with cooking content, sharing recipe tutorials for protein pancakes, lentil curry and breakfast crumble as part of his Gregg Wallace Health venture.

His followers welcomed the return, with comments including "Nice to see you back Greg. We've missed your 7am stories!" and "Back where you belong."

The allegations against Wallace include claims of "wrong" and "sexualised" behaviour during filming, which he denies through his legal team.

Celebrity chef Rick Stein has recently expressed sympathy for Wallace, telling The Telegraph he feels "a bit sorry" for the former MasterChef host.

"I think partly he hadn't really taken on that you can't say certain things now. It's not so much that he was a nasty person," Stein said.

He added: "I'm lucky that I've got sons who will instantly tell me, 'Listen, you can't say this'. And if you don't pick up on that, the fact that things change, well that's not very clever."

However, Stein qualified his comments, stating: "I don't like sleaziness so I'm not saying that [about all of Wallace's behaviour]."

Wallace's legal team has maintained that "it is entirely false that he engages in behaviour of a sexually harassing nature."

The presenter previously sparked controversy with comments about his accusers being "middle-class women of a certain age."

He later apologised for these remarks, saying: "I wasn't in a good headspace when I posted it.

"I've been under a huge amount of stress, a lot of emotion."

Among the specific allegations, a woman known as Lisa claimed Wallace "touched her inappropriately" during filming of Eat Well for Less in 2015, while another woman, Sarah, alleged inappropriate behaviour at an event in 2022.

The BBC is currently conducting an investigation into the allegations.
