The incident has sparked a huge backlash, with many expressing concern for Censori

A Grammy Awards producer has addressed the controversial red carpet appearance by Kanye West and Bianca Censori after she revealed a completely see-through dress at Sunday night's ceremony.

The incident sparked widespread attention after Censori dropped her fur coat in front of photographers at the Crypto.com Arena, exposing herself in a sheer garment without underwear.

The shocking display prompted immediate reactions from Grammy officials, with questions arising about potential dress code violations at the prestigious music awards ceremony.

Executive producer Raj Kapoor has now responded to the incident, emphasising that the show maintains certain standards for its participants.

Kapoor clarified that guests at the ceremony are instructed to dress in "artistic black tie", though he acknowledged the music industry's flexible interpretation of this guideline.

"Obviously there is a dress code for anybody actually performing on the show that we have to adhere to standards and practices", the producer told People.

He added that dress codes for attending guests and nominees would fall under the Recording Academy's jurisdiction.

The statement came amid reports that Grammy bosses were furious about the incident, though no official reprimand has been issued by the Academy.

Kanye West took to social media following the incident, sharing a photo of the controversial dress with the caption: "The invisible dress."

The rapper made bold claims about the impact of their red carpet appearance, stating: "For clarity February 4th 2025 My wife is the most Googled person on the planet called Earth".

West appeared to celebrate the attention, declaring "We beat the Grammies" in a subsequent post.

The provocative display has drawn comparisons to West's previous relationship, as his former wife Kim Kardashian was also known for generating global headlines with daring outfit choices.

The look was reportedly intended to reference the cover of West's 2024 album, Vultures.

Legal experts have weighed in on potential consequences of the controversial Grammy appearance.

Los Angeles-based lawyer Andrea Oguntula explained to Page Six that criminal charges were unlikely in this case.

"While Ms. Censori's outfit undoubtedly pushed the envelope, a charge of indecent exposure in California requires willful public exposure of one's genitals with the specific intent to offend or sexually arouse", Oguntula stated.

Sources from the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed to TMZ that no criminal investigation was being conducted regarding the incident at the Crypto.com Arena.

The LAPD sources emphasised that the Grammy Awards is a private event, further reducing the likelihood of any legal repercussions.

West has leveraged the incident to launch his brand's expansion into women's fashion.

The rapper announced the debut of a new Yeezy women's wear collection on social media, with the first piece directly inspired by the Grammy Awards appearance.

The inaugural garment is a black thong bodysuit, identical to the one Censori wore at the Grammy's afterparty.

West unveiled the piece on his social media account, marking it as the "first women's piece" for the Yeezy brand.
