The long-standing cast members shared the heartbreaking news on Instagram earlier this week, prompting an outpouring of support from fans.
Rufus was described by the family as their "beautiful boy" who had been an integral part of their lives since the beginning.
The Siddiquis have been familiar faces on the hit show since its launch in 2013 and consists of father Sid and sons Raza, Baasit, and Umar.
In their emotional Instagram statement, Baasit wrote: "Goodnight our beautiful boy Rufus. 15 and a half years wasn't long enough, you were and always will be a big part of our lives.
"The most chilled, cuddly and beautiful boy who made us a family right back at the beginning. Lots of memories that we will never forget and we are truly grateful to have known and loved you. Sleep tight our handsome boy."
The touching tribute was accompanied by a collection of photos of their beloved pet, including a throwback to when Rufus was a kitten.
