Gogglebox viewers 'switch off' minutes in as they fume over unexpected Channel 4 change: 'Very disappointing!'

Seething Channel 4 viewers have "switched off" from Friday's Celebrity Gogglebox after expressing "disappointment" just minutes into the episode.
It came as the fan-favourite show returned with what viewers thought would be a new instalment, but was in fact a compilation episode from various celebrities who have starred in recent series.
Some of the famous faces who appeared in the episode included Rylan Clark and his mum Linda, Danny Dyer and his daughter Dani, Clare Balding and Alice Arnold and Stephen Mangan and his sister Anita.
However, the change to the series didn't go down well with fans.
One outraged viewer penned on X: "Really getting f****d off with the TV recently! EVERYTHING seems to be repeats! Got settled to watch Celeb Gogglebox thinking it was a new series, or a Christmas special! Oh how wrong am I!
"YET AGAIN ANOTHER REPEAT! Utter s***e! #gogglebox #celebritygogglebox @Channel4 @Ofcom."
"A Christmas compilation episode on the last Friday before Christmas is very disappointing #Gogglebox #CelebrityGogglebox," a third agreed.
Gogglebox fans were expecting to see a new episode featuring their favourites

"Is anyone else disappointed when #Gogglebox turns to #CelebrityGogglebox? Celebrities are so dull," another complained.
A fifth shared: "The celebrity version of #gogglebox is always c**p. Not funny. Would rather watch the regular version. Even a repeat is better than a repeat of #celebritygogglebox."
"#Gogglebox Where is Gogglebox? Why have Ch4 put on a summer edition with so called Celebrities in it? Not good. I'll watch No Time To Die. Thanks for nothing, Ch4," someone else commented.
"#celebritygogglebox how can this be advertised as 'new celebrity gogglebox' it was basically filmed In the summer . Not up to date at all. A lot has happened since then," wrote another social media user.

Not all of the comments were negative though, with one writing: "Love #Gogglebox." (sic)
Despite Friday's critical response, many big names have come from the fly-in-the-wall series, with some of the original stars having garnered a big following.
Sue Sheehan recently shared a candid update with her own fans about her health during a recent episode of the Channel 4 show.
Sheehan and her husband Steve had been notably absent from recent episodes leading some to worry about the beloved couple.
The pair appeared as normal during a recent instalment, she shared the news that she had been suffering from Bell’s palsy, a neurological disorder that can cause stroke-like symptoms such as temporary weakness or paralysis on one side of the face.
Sheehan revealed: “I've had to relearn to do a couple of things since this Bell's palsy.”
