Festival-goers seem to largely be in agreement that the 2025 line-up is a 'disappointment'

Glastonbury has officially released its hotly-anticipated 2025 line-up, but the annual music event has been deemed the "worst yet" by some fans.

The huge event is marking its 55th year, with organisers announcing on Thursday, March 6, that headliners will include The 1975, Olivia Rodrigo and Neil Young.

Headliners for the festival, which will take place from June 25 to 29, will be joined by five-time Brit Award winner Charlie XCX.

The 32-year-old will be heading up the festival's second stage on the Saturday.

Other names include Alanis Morisette, Noah Kahan, Gracie Abrams, Lola Young and Doechii.

Rod Stewart will also make an appearance for Sunday's "legend slot," with classic musician Neil Young headlining Saturday's show.

Among the returning acts, fans will have the option to see Wolf Alive, Fatboy Slim and Scissor Sisters.

Taking to socials, Glastonbury's official account shared the line-up along with the caption: "Here is the first Glastonbury Festival 2025 line-up poster. Many more acts and attractions still to be announced."

However, it seems the majority of those taking to the comments section were left severely underwhelmed.

One wrote: "Wow that is the worst line up so far. A new low. How come there's no decent music ? #binfire #The1975."

"Headliners get worse each year," a second complained, with someone else agreeing: "Worst lineup to date."

"What has happened to this festival?" another asked.

"The year I finally was able to get tickets and I’m disappointed with the lineup," one fan confessed.

"C**p headliners again… how can you from Elton John to this?" another questioned.

Another fan fumed: "Unbelievably bad lineup, woefully out of touch."

While disappointment seemed to be the consensus, there were some who were pleased with the announcement.

"THE 1975 & CHARLI SCREAMING CRYING THROWING UP IM SO HAPPY," one enthused.

Another suggested: "Someone give me [their] ticket seeing as everyone's moaning xoxo." (sic)

Despite dividing opinions, Manchester-formed band The 1975 have headlined Reading and Leeds Festivals three times since 2016, but this year will mark their first time at the top of the Glastonbury acts.

Good 4 U singer Rodrigo, 22, will become the second-youngest headliner of all time after Billie Eilish, who fronted the festival in 2022.
