Giovanni Pernice has vowed to clear his name and refuses to let himself be cancelled after Amanda Abbington's claims

Giovanni Pernice doesn't seem to be backing down from the legal battle against Amanda Abbington and recently made his feelings clear after liking a lengthy post on social media from a loyal fan.

Over the last few months, Abbington began her legal case against the Italian dancer after she claimed she suffered PTSD from her time with him, requested the tapes of their training and added that he purposefully stamped on her foot.

Since then, two more of Pernice's former dance partners have made a claim against him and his "militant" style of training, noting they would leave their training "in tears" and "black and blue".

The ongoing rift has caused some of the Strictly professionals to keep their distance from commenting on the claims, but this hasn't stopped loyal fans of Pernice reaching out to give their support.

The Latin and Ballroom champion recently posted a video of himself and his model girlfriend Molly Brown enjoying their holiday to Mediera to promote the luxury seafront residence they stayed in on Instagram.

One very critical user commented underneath the post and slammed Abbington's mental health, suggested she was out to destroy his career and criticised the producers for deciding to pair him up with her.

They wrote: "Keep your chin up Gio, unlucky that someone decided to partner you with someone who didn't have the mental strength to participate in Strictly.

"The frustration I have is that no 'official' complaint has been made, it's all innuendo by one partner when the other two have jumped on the bandwagon. 'If' things were so bad why has no one picked up in the last 9 seasons either in the programme itself or during the tour?

"These partners may have had issues but as far as I can tell, did not make anything official but now they have banded together they appear to have hired a £700 an hour lawyer.

"One thing is for sure my license fee better not be picking up this bill, they can pay it out of their fee for appearing in Strictly."

They also went on to refer to the initials LW and RS, suggesting they believe the other complainants to be Laura Whitmore and Ranvir Singh - who have previously spoken about their time with Pernice.

"Like I say, let Gio see the accusations and let professionals like Arlene Phillips review. So fed up of AA, LW and RS systematically trying to ruin a professional reputation.

"Let's get this sorted once and for all, it all started when one woman who was already going through a lot in her personal life couldn't take the added pressure of professional dancing, which is a great shame."

Neither Strictly, the BBC nor Pernice have publicly confirmed the identities of the celebrity partners who have enlisted the legal services of London firm Carter-Ruck.

It has also not been confirmed whether Pernice will or will not be cast in this year's series of the show.

The 33-year-old has vehemently denied the claims of "abuse" and has since hired the help of London-based law firm Schillings to shut down the claims and win the cases against him.

GB News has contacted Pernice's representatives for a comment.
