Giovanni Pernice's girlfriend Molly Brown has reportedly spoken out about the headlines surrounding her beau and his former Strictly Come Dancing partner Amanda Abbington.
Pernice has been the subject of several reports since Abbington quit Strictly last year with the Sherlock star claiming to have been diagnosed with PTSD as a result of her time on the show.
Since then, Pernice's BBC Strictly future has been shrouded in mystery, with reports that the Beeb is standing by him while other former partners have supposedly joined forces to share complaints similar to Abbington.
Pernice has done little to dampen the speculation over his future on the BBC show after fans spotted the cryptic title he'd given to his next solo tour.
Strictly bosses are still yet to confirm if Pernice has a spot in this year's line-up of professionals as the full cast will be announced in due course.
In the meantime, Pernice has been supported by his girlfriend Brown who has reportedly branded Abbington's claims and the entire saga as "bizarre".
A source told the Daily Mail: "Gio has been through a horrific few months but Molly has been an absolute rock the whole time.
"She's told friends how bizarre she thinks the stuff is that Gio's been accused of because it doesn't tally with the person she knows.
"Like many of his mates, she's been left quite angry about it and thinks those throwing around claims should either make a complaint or stop causing trouble."
Brown and Pernice's romance became public knowledge earlier this year amid the latest developments in the Abbington saga.
Despite brief reports of a split, the same source told the publication that Pernice and Brown have "grown incredibly close very quickly".
"He's on the road a lot and she knows all about his previous reputation. But she doesn't care and is very happy in the relationship," they added.
Pernice replicated the support shown to him by sharing a public tribute to his other half to mark her birthday recently.
Alongside a loved-up snap of the two, Pernice penned: "Happy bday to my beautiful [queen]!!TMABWAW. I love you!"
