The show's fans were left devastated when the news of Chris’ death was revealed

George Clarke has issued an update on how he wishes to help one family who appeared on Channel 4’s Building Home series and suffered a devastating loss.

During a previous episode, Clarke connected with young couple Chris and Ellie who were renovating Chris’s grandparent’s bungalow.

They were unfortunately forced to demolish the property and start from a fresh, but this didn't deter the couple from getting to their goal.

However, their determination was soon halted when they revealed the heartbreaking news that Chris was suffering from stage four cancer.

Despite the setback, the pair were able to complete the build on time, but viewers were dealt a blow as a heartbreaking tribute explained that Chris tragically passed away soon after the project.

Clarke echoed the tribute on his own Instagram page soon after, writing: “Thank you so, so much from the bottom of my heart for allowing me to be part of your beautiful ‘BUILDING HOME’ story. For you to allow myself and the cameras into your life through the most difficult of times was nothing short of incredible.

“I will always cherish the times I had with you both as we followed your ‘returning home’ journey. There were many tears, but my word we also had a lot of laughs along the way.

“Rest in peace my friend. I’ll see you up there one day and we can sit and chat and laugh together with a few beers on your comfortable armchairs! Fly high️ #RIP,” the tributed concluded. (sic)

Now, in a new update, Clarke has posted the Just Giving page which was set up in memory of Chris.

Captioning the post, Clarke penned: “Chris’ Sister, Rebecca, has set up a Just Giving page in memory of Chris.

“Chris lived his pilot dream because of the Chindle Air League. Please donate and support if you can. The link is here and in my bio. RIP Chris.”

Fans of the show were still left devastated by the news and were quick to comment on the post with their wishes.

One commented: “One of the best episodes. Loved them and what an amazing outlook on life, he had.

Absolutely adored watching this build. What a brave man who lived life to the max,” another added.

A third penned: “He was an inspiration to many who are going through similar circumstances, they can look up to him and be motivated to make and tick things off a bucket list.

R.I.P. Chris, you left your mark on this world, thoughts are with all his friends and family.”
