George Clarke shared his heartbreak with fans after one of the guests on his new home renovation series tragically died after filming.
The 50-year-old presenter and architect’s Building Home series debuted on Wednesday on Channel 4.
The series will see Clarke meet people who are yearning to return to their old homes after moving away years previously.
It follows the nostalgic guests as they embark on ambitious renovations to turn their memories into dream homes.
Wednesday's debut episode saw Clarke connect with young couple Chris and Ellie who were renovating Chris’s grandparent’s bungalow in Lancashire’s idyllic Ribble Valley.
Despite being forced to demolish the property and start again, the couple were determined to move in by Christmas.

Their haste was prompted by the heartbreaking reveal that Chris was suffering with stage four cancer.
He and Ellie were able to bravely complete the build on time, but viewers were dealt a hammer blow as a sombre message was relayed at the end of Wednesday’s show.
A photo tribute explained that Chris tragically passed away soon after the project and filming was completed.
Clarke echoed the tribute on his own Instagram page soon after, writing: “Thank you so, so much from the bottom of my heart for allowing me to be part of your beautiful ‘BUILDING HOME’ story. For you to allow myself and the cameras into your life through the most difficult of times was nothing short of incredible.
“I will always cherish the times I had with you both as we followed your ‘returning home’ journey. There were many tears, but my word we also had a lot of laughs along the way.
“Ellie….BIG HUGS! Let’s have a large glass of wine together soon,” the host promised.
“Chris…I’ll miss you. Your strength will always be an inspiration to me,” Clarke continued.
“Rest in peace my friend. I’ll see you up there one day and we can sit and chat and laugh together with a few beers on your comfortable armchairs! Fly high️ #RIP,” the tributed concluded. (sic)
Viewers were also devastated by the news of Chris’ death and shared their thoughts on social media.
