Sir Geoffrey Boycott's health has "taken a turn for the worse" his daughter has said following a recent hospital stint for cancer treatment.
Earlier this month, Boycott was admitted to hospital to undergo an operation to have a tumour removed from his throat.
He was first diagnosed with the illness in 2002 and was treated with chemotherapy and radiotherapy, but the cancer returned earlier this year.
After his operation "went well", Boycott returned home on July 19 where he was instructed to follow a liquid-only diet.
However, just two days later, Boycott was readmitted to hospital as his daughter Emma explained he'd developed pneumonia, rendering him unable to eat or drink.
Via Boycott's X account, Emma shared a series of updates about her father's wellbeing, beginning on July 17 where she explained the situation: "Just to let everyone know my Father, Geoffrey, has successfully come out of surgery this evening after a 3 hour operation to remove his throat cancer.

"Yet to see him but surgeon says it went well. He asked that I post an update."
Two days later, Emma returned to the social media platform with an update: "Another update on behalf of my Father...
" He’s just been discharged from hospital and is on the way home which is fantastic!
"Lots of pain meds and a liquid only diet for the foreseeable but he’s on the mend, and looking forward to watching @TheOpen and @englandcricket at home."
Thank you all for the well wishes, we’ve been blown away by the sheer number of them!

Unfortunately things have taken a turn for the worse and my Father has developed pneumonia and is unable to eat or drink so is back in hospital on oxygen and a feeding tube for the foreseeable.
But on July 21, things started to go downhill as Emma penned: "Thank you all for the well wishes, we’ve been blown away by the sheer number of them!
"Unfortunately things have taken a turn for the worse and my Father has developed pneumonia and is unable to eat or drink so is back in hospital on oxygen and a feeding tube for the foreseeable."
Inevitably, thousands of Boycott's followers and cricket fans across the globe have rushed to send their best wishes to the iconic cricketer.
GB News regular Mike Parry used his X profile to write: "Geoffrey Boycott is one of the greatest sporting icons I've ever had the privilege to work with.
"Hugeley talented as a cricketer he's been equally stunning to me as a leading broadcasting member of my @talkSPORT team in not only cricket but golf .. Employed him at The OPEN."
Elsewhere, one fan wrote: "Sorry to read this. I know your father is a fighter so I’m hoping for a positive turn soon."

A second added: "So sorry to hear this... I am wishing Sir Geoffrey a speedy recovery," followed by a prayer emoji.
And another echoed: "Your dad’s a great Yorkshireman. If anyone can get through this, he can.
"Wish him well from one of the many kids who always looked up ‘Boycott’ first in his dad’s newspaper. 50s and 100s galore!"
While a fourth weighed in: "In my thoughts Emma. You Dad is a fighter - in his playing days he'd see off one new ball after another with all that the front line bowlers tried to throw at him. He's at the crease again and we all pray he will see off this latest challenge." (sic)
