Ted Lasso star Hannah Waddingham left the E! Emmys Red Carpet host Laverne Cox red-faced after she mispronounced her name at Emmys 2024.
Cox was interviewing stars on the red carpet and spoke to the sitcom star but introduced her as "Hannah Waddington" rather than "Waddingham."
The English actress didn't ignore the mistake and corrected Laverne, telling her: "Waddingham. Let's get that right, straight away."
To ensure she got it right, Cox said: "Say it again?" And the 54-year-old repeated herself. Cox then imitated Waddingham's English accent before saying: "'I love you so much."

Before parting ways, the 51-year-old host made a point to emphasise that the actress' name was "Waddingham, not ton."
To which Hannah reminded her how important it is to "get it right" once again. Fans noticed the blunder and instantly took to social media to comment.
One person said: "Very uncomfortable watching Laverne Cox butcher Hannah Waddingham's name.
"First it was 'Waddington' and then it was 'Wattingham.' Adding insult to injury it doesn't seem she knows this was Ted Lasso's last season."

Another penned: "Love Laverne Cox but she messed up Hannah Waddingham’s name and keeps asking the same question: “Tell me the story of this outfit.”
"She also goes on rants and doesn’t have a question. Ask them questions! Interview them! Come on!"
Waddingham was nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series however she didn't swipe the gong this time around.
The Bear actor Ayo Edebiri won the Emmy and paid a sweet tribute to her parents when she received the award.

She said: “This is a show about family and found family and real family, and my parents are here tonight and I’m making them sit far away from me because I’m a bad kid but thank you.
“Thank you so much for loving me and letting me feel beautiful and black and proud of all of that. I love you so much.
"Probably not a dream to immigrate to this country and have your daughter go “I wanna do improv,” but you are real ones.”
As well as Waddingham, Edebiri beat Alex Borstein (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel), Janelle James (Abbott Elementary), Sheryl Lee Ralph (Abbott Elementary), Juno Temple and Jessica Williams (Shrinking.)
