Elvis Presley's revolver has fetched a staggering amount at auction

Elvis Presley's Smith & Wesson Model 53 double-action revolver fetched close to $200,000 at an auction this past weekend.
Put up for sale by the Rock Island Auction Company, the organisation claimed the handgun's winning bid was a huge $199,750.
This far dwarfed the original $60,000 estimate price slapped on the item before it went to auction.
Presley was gifted the gun in November 1976, although the identity of who handed it over remains a mystery.
The singer died nine months later at the age of 42.
The revolver was just one of 37 firearms the singer had in his possession at the time of his death, according to the auction house.
Presley was no stranger to showing off his love for gun and even had a shooting range installed at Graceland.

The Smith & Wesson revolver in unlike any other as it comes modified and packed with customisations fit for the King of Rock 'N Roll.
The gun was specially engraved by the gun manufacturer's master engraver Russell J. Smith.
It also features a gold American eagle clutching in its talons the American flag as well as 13 stars across the side.
Carved alongside the patriotic symbol are the words: "The Spirit of '76."
On the opposite side of the revolver is a gold-embossed minuteman with two silver stars on either side.
The years 1776-1976 are engraved on the barrel to mark the company's bicentennial achievement.
An 18k gold ramp sight atop the handgun completes its highly unique appearance.
Memorabilia attached to Presley continues to sell for thousands and thousands of dollars even over four decades after his death.
And interest in the Presley family as a whole also remains sky-high, with his ex-wife Priscilla's life being brought to screens in a new biopic later this year.

His granddaughter Riley Keough is also a star in her own right after starring in Amazon Prime's Daisy Jones and The Six.
Both Priscilla and Keough spoke out recently after a reported feud over the terms of the late Lisa-Marie Presley's will.
The daughter of the Jailhouse Rock singer died in January this year and Keough and her brother were named trustees without Priscilla's knowledge.
However, the duo insist they're on good terms and there was never a rift between them in the wake of Lisa-Marie's death.
