The GB News presenter also gave his own health update after suffering with his back

Eamonn Holmes adopted his pet pooch Maggie from the Dog's Trust for his son Jack, who was eight at the time, and often gives his fans an update on how she is - recently revealing she had an operation.

The 64-year-old is no stranger to operations, after having been through a double-hip replacement in 2016, and then falling backwards down 18 stairs at his Weybridge home, hitting the stone floor at the bottom a few years later.

Taking to his Instagram recently, he posted a sweet picture with the pooch and revealed: "A lot of you wondering about Maggie. She’s had an op to remove a growth. All well. Not bad for a 14-year-old! In fact, she’s in better shape than me."

Fans were quick to send their well wishes to Eamonn and Maggie, with one writing in the comment section: "Hope she recovers well!"

"Beautiful Maggie. A lovely photo of you both Eamonn," someone else said before another praised: "Adorable picture, a strong friendship, bond with your beautiful Maggie. You both look fabulous."

Someone else added: "Lovely pic Eamonn and so pleased Maggie is well love her. Hope you’re doing well too. Living in pain is awful so sending you lots of well wishes."

"What a beautiful photo," one avid fan praised before a sixth noted: "Absolutely beautiful gorgeous picture." (sic)

Eamonn was also flooded with praise recently after he revealed he was trying a new treatment for his back pain, explaining that he was attempting to get his muscle memory back.

In the video, Eamonn cheerfully explained to his followers: "Hello there, this is my latest exploit. This is what is called an anti-gravity treadmill. And the reason it is called anti-gravity is you see down here, I am being supported by quite a big balloon.

"The balloon holds my weight, and what it does really, the machine helps my legs and my body remember what it was like to move like this before things went wrong.

"They have been wrong for a long time. So the idea is that I build up muscle memory and you know things will happen, hopefully in the near future but for the moment I do half an hour on this, cheers."

Eamonn has been very open with his fans about his recovery and gave an update to his fans whilst accepting a TRIC award for his GB News Breakfast show with Isabel Webster, Stephen Dixon and Ellie Costello.

After being helped onto the stage, he explained: "Thank you very much indeed and the quality of the opposition that you are up against says a lot, really all class programmes and that makes this that little bit more special.

"Sometimes I think we have got imposter syndrome... why us? That sort of thing.
