Disney and Lucasfilm has come under fire and is being sued by Mandalorian star Gina Carano with the financial support of X and Tesla owner Elon Musk, who is paying for her lawyers.
The Mandalorian first dropped on Disney+ back in 2019 and saw Carano play tough former Rebel trooper Cara Dune alongside actor Pedro Pascal.
However, Carano was axed from the series three years ago after she allegedly compared the current political climate in America to Nazi Germany.
Shortly after the second season had concluded and Disney got wind of Carano’s comments, it put out a scathing statement where it revealed it had cut ties with the actress.
The statement read: “Gina Carano is not currently employed by Lucasfilm and there are no plans for her to be in the future.
“Nevertheless, her social media posts denigrating people based on their cultural and religious identities are abhorrent and unacceptable.”

Feeling as if she was wrongly discharged on top of sex discrimination, Carano began her lawsuit against Disney and Lucasfilm on Tuesday, February 8.
The complaint, which is seeking a jury trial, reads: “A short time ago in a galaxy not so far away, Defendants made it clear that only one orthodoxy in thought, speech, or action was acceptable in their empire, and that those who dared to question or failed to fully comply would not be tolerated. And so it was with Carano.”
The suit added that Carano has returned to “demand that they be held accountable for their bullying, discriminatory and retaliatory actions,” which inflicted emotional and financial harm.
Her suit alleges Disney and Lucasfilm backed out of deals for her future roles in season three of The Mandalorian, the new series Rangers of the New Republic, and planned future Stars Wars full-length feature films and not supporting free speech.

Seeking a flurry of damages and a court order to get her role as Cara Dune back, Carano took to her social media to highlight her legal move.
After relaying the statement in which Disney and Lucasfilm originally put out, Carano refuted: “Nothing could be further from the truth.
“The truth is I was being hunted down from everything I posted to every post I liked because I was not in line with the acceptable narrative if the time.
“My words were consistently twisted to demonize and dehumanize me as an alt right wing extremist. It was a bullying smear campaign aimed at silencing, destroying and making an example out of me,” she claimed.

Carano amplified the claim that she never used aggressive language and claimed all she did was share “thought provoking images and quotes”, whilst adding how her male co-stars were “permitted” to speak on the same issues without being “harassed”.
She ended her X post by thanking and expressing her “deepest gratitude” to tech mogul Elon Musk before adding she would love to “pick up where I left off”.
“Thank you to all the people who have supported me and made your voices heard. I pray God blesses each and every one of you.” (sic)
