Dawn French, 66, has issued a sarcastic swipe at Clarkson's Farm front-man Jeremy Clarkson on X, formerly Twitter.
The actor also poked fun at X owner Elon Musk in the social media post in which she called both men "t**ts".
The post in question included a photo of French's new book on the table at a retailer in between copies of both Musk's and Clarkson's own books.
Titled The T**t Files, copies of French's memoir were stacked with Clarkson's Pigs Might Fly to the left and Musk's self-titled biography penned by Walter Isaacson on the right.
Playing on the title of her own book, French shared the snap on social media with the caption: "T**ts to the left of me, t**ts to the right…"
However, her joke appears to have hit a bum note with fellow X users who pointed out a rather humorous detail in the photo.

AMAZON STUDIOS"I notice your book pile is higher," one observant X user mocked.
While a second similarly teased: "I wonder who sells the most books though??! I reckon the guy on the left may just have the edge."
Elsewhere, a third defended the pair: "Both achieved more than you could ever dream of, as evidenced by this painfully unfunny tweet."
And a fourth weighed in: "You were previously funny. What happened?"

"Your tweet speaks volumes about you, and clearly, it's not pleasant," added a fifth.
While a sixth hit out at the long-time Labour voter: "Tolerant liberal. What happened to #bekind?"
French has been a vocal supporter of Labour and the left for decades, even admitting she dumped a man she was dating after discovering he was a Conservative voter.
"I did have a nice time with one chap. He was quite posh," she said of the How to Wow podcast in 2020.

Meanwhile, Clarkson has also waded into the world of political debate recently with a handful of public attacks on London Mayor and Labour Party member Sadiq Khan.
Just last week he implored his followers: "People of abroad. Do NOT come to London until we can get rid of our clown mayor."
While an earlier tweet included Clarkson saying Khan was "f**king up" the capital.
