Tributes have flooded in for music producer and DJ Danny Stubbs following his death at the age of 40.
Stubbs was diagnosed with rare Stage 4 oesophageal adenocarcinoma in August last year and was told the illness was inoperable.
The cancer spread to his lymph nodes and bones in his spine and 12 months on from his initial diagnosis, his wife confirmed he'd died at St Luke’s Hospice in Winsford.
The only symptoms Stubbs experienced prior to the diagnosis were acid reflux, hiccoughing and difficulty swallowing, symptoms that his other half perceived as "innocent" before his diagnosis.
Stubbs died on August 24, with his wife Danielle saying in a statement shared to his Instagram: "With an utterly shattered and devastated heart, I’m sharing that the love of my life, my favourite person in the whole world passed away last night at 11.05pm.
"I’m so sorry to those loved ones of Danny’s and mine who will be finding out this way, it’s just too painful to speak. We are completely heartbroken and never anticipated it would happen so sudden.

"It’s so unfair and cruel but it does bring some sort of comfort knowing that he is no longer in pain."
"We had to create our own hope on this cancer journey that began a year ago in August. We became so much stronger as a couple and though we have gone through hell, we had some of our happiest moments and memories together."
Stubbs' spouse went on to say how "proud" she was of her husband for "how hard Danny fought to stay with me", adding that he "never gave up".
"He is the strongest man I’ve ever known and his mentality was so strong even til the end. Danny still wins. Taking care of him was the greatest privilege, loving him was an honour."
Reflecting on their life together, she added: "Loving Danny, and being loved by him, has and will always be the best thing about this life. I will carry him in my heart every day. I’m so grateful for the time we had together.
"I wish more than anything that we could have more time but it would have been selfish of me to keep him when the cancer was so cruel.
"Danny is no longer in pain and at peace now. The most beautiful person, loved by everyone. I will treasure our love forever."
She signed off the heartbreaking statement with the words: "I love you, I miss you already and will see you on the other side. Rest in peace my beautiful, sweet husband. 23/04/1984 - 24/08/2024."
Friends and colleagues rushed to the comments of the post to pay tribute to the DJ, including one who penned: "This is truly heartbreaking.
"My condolences to you Danielle and all his family, he was one of the nicest people I ever had the chance to work with. Rest in peace Danny."

Stubbs' music saw him featured on a plethora of BBC radio shows before his death, with the producer regularly sharing snippets on his social media page.
The DJ featured on BBC Radio Solent, BBC Radio Shropshire and BBC Radio 1 in the months before his death.
He is survived by his wife Danielle and his daughter Leah.
