The ongoing lawsuit has now caused concern for fans of the author

Bestselling author Colleen Hoover has sparked concern among fans after posting bizarre videos on social media that have raised questions about her well-being.

The 45-year-old It Ends With Us writer shared a clip on Instagram showing herself making Pepsi ice cubes whilst speaking in a slow, slightly dazed manner.

In the video which sparked concern, Hoover suggested making the ice cubes might be a "new rock bottom" for her and said: "It tastes just like every other Diet Pepsi I've ever had.

"But I guess the kicker is in two hours when this ice starts to melt, it'll be the best thing I've ever had. It's gonna be a great day."

In another clip uploaded shortly after, Hoover bizarrely scolded an employee named Stephanie for selling her merchandise at what she considered too low a price.

"Thanks, Stephanie, you better be careful because maybe TMZ was right, maybe I am firing all my employees and retiring. Well, I can't retire now because I'm going to be in the hole by 5pm," Hoover continued in the strange video.

The clips prompted immediate concern from fans on social media as one person described the situation as "very sad" whilst another commented: "That's very concerning. I hope she is OK and has someone to check on her - that's what Justin would want."

These unusual videos come amid growing controversy surrounding Hoover's involvement in a high-profile Hollywood dispute, with the author recently being embroiled in the conflict between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni.

In December, after Lively filed a lawsuit against Baldoni alleging sexual harassment, Hoover publicly supported Lively on Instagram.

She wrote: "@blakelively, you have been nothing but honest, kind, supportive and patient since the day we met. Thank you for being exactly the human that you are. Never change. Never wilt."

Following backlash, Hoover deactivated her social media accounts in January before returning in February with all Lively-related content removed.

Fans have flooded Hoover's social media with criticism over her handling of the situation, as on an Instagram post promoting her upcoming "Verity" film adaptation, one person wrote: "So disappointed to see you choose Blake and allowed the bullying of Justin. Disgusting behaviour."

Another commented: "You should be ashamed of how you handled this. Never support a bully, you should have spoken up for Justin. You better let him remake the movie without Blake and Ryan. I won't be seeing another one of the movies otherwise!!!"

The backlash has raised questions about the potential impact on Hoover's future projects, with the author currently working on film adaptations of her novels Verity and Regretting You.

Verity boasts an impressive cast including Anne Hathaway, Dakota Johnson and Josh Hartnett, though no premiere date has been announced, whist Regretting You is scheduled for a 2025 release, starring Allison Williams, McKenna Grace and Dave Franco.

The ongoing legal battle between Lively and Baldoni began when Lively filed a lawsuit in December accusing Baldoni of sexual harassment during filming, which he denied.

Lively later filed an amended complaint claiming Baldoni repeatedly crossed boundaries during intimate scenes, including improvising unplanned kisses.

Baldoni responded with a $400 million defamation lawsuit against Lively and her husband Ryan Reynolds.

US District Court Judge Lewis J. Liman has ordered that their lawsuits be joined, with a trial date set for March 9, 2026.
