Vorderman has previously criticised Trump supporters as "eejits"

Carol Vorderman has issued a scathing broadside of Donald Trump on Instagram who she described as a "bully" and warned of the rise of "fascism".

The 64-year-old former Countdown presenter shared a news article alongside her comments about Russia’s alleged drone attack on the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.

On Friday, Kyiv claims a drone armed with explosives collided with the Chernobyl plant’s protective shell, which shields the region from it's reactor's dangerous radiation.

The drone reportedly pierced the dome and started a brief fire which was quickly brought under control, preventing a leak of deadly radiation that first threatened to contaminate the European continent in 1986.

While speaking at the Munich security conference, Ukrainian President Zelensky blamed the attack on Russia which the Kremlin has denied.

Amid the claims, the US under President Trump has been setting out its intention to pursue a negotiated peace in Ukraine with Russia and demand more defence contributions from Europe.

The attack and Trump’s new posture on Russia prompted Vorderman to take to social media to share her fury with the situation.

After the nonsense talk about peace in Ukraine, Putin bombed the old nuclear plant at Chernobyl,” she wrote with a red with anger emoji.

Attacking both Trump and Putin, she declared: “This is what happens when you give power to corrupted bullies!”

In her tirade, the 64-year-old accused “emperor” Trump of “bringing Europe closer to all-out war.”

Turning her attention to domestic affairs, Vorderman issued a chilling warning to Britons.

You’ve only known peace time in the UK while you've been alive.... please DO NOT TAKE DEMOCRACY FOR GRANTED. For it may just be a blip.”

The former Countdown icon took aim at “fascism” at the ballot box in the UK and US.

Wanna live under fascism? Then don't vote Want freedoms for yourself and your children?"

"Then register to vote AND VOTE IN ALL ELECTIONS,” the 64-year-old demanded.

Returning to her sobering tone, Vorderman warned: “Fascism sneaks through when people can't be a***d...”

This controversy follows earlier backlash against Vorderman this week when she criticised UK supporters of Donald Trump on X.

Responding to a headline about Trump saying the UK was "out of line" and threatening European tariffs, Vorderman wrote: "Right wing Trump fans here seem to want the UK to fail and to damage their own people .....eejits...."
