Several fans of rock legend Bruce Springsteen have expressed concern over the first-look at Jeremy Allen White as The Boss in an upcoming biopic.
The film, Deliver Me from Nowhere, will follow the development of Springsteen’s 1982 album Nebraska.
20th Century Studios released an image of Allen White in costume on social media this week, teasing the 2025 release of the film.
Director Scott Cooper’s Deliver Me from Nowhere will also star Succession lead Jeremy Strong as Springsteen’s manager Jon Landau and Peaky Blinders star Stephen Graham as the icon’s father.
Allen White shot to stardom as the main character of the wildly successful comedy-drama The Bear.
The 33-year-old actor won critical praise and major awards for his performance, including multiple Emmys and Golden Globes.

Despite this, some fans were less than impressed with the first look at Allen White as The Boss, sporting a simple shirt and leather jacket.
Many fans appeared to believe more could have been done to convincingly transform the actor into Springsteen.
One fan joked on X, formerly Twitter: “First look at Jeremy Allen White as Jeremy Allen White.”
Another fan fumed that Allen White’s interpretation of Springsteen merely consisted of the actor “just in a flannel (shirt) and jacket".

Meanwhile, a third seemed perplexed at the portrayal, simply querying in response to the image: "That’s supposed to be Bruce Springsteen?"
However, the announcement also received positive feedback as well.
Responding to 20th Century Studios announcement, one fan declared: “That's exciting casting! Jeremy Allen White has the intensity and grit to pull off Bruce Springsteen's vibe.”
Another agreed, saying that: “Allen White looks incredible as Bruce Springsteen.”
Contrary to some, others lauded Allen White's transformation: “Looks like Bruce! I am loving this!”
Regarding his own preparation for the role, Allen White said: “I’ve got a really talented group of people helping me train vocally, musically, to get ready for this thing.”
