Paul Chase died on March 13, Malone said in a statement

Tina Malone, best known for starring in Shameless and Brookside, has announced the death of her husband, Paul Chase.

Chase died at the age of 42 on Wednesday, March 13, with Malone taking to social media to announce the news.

The pair tied the knot in 2010 before initially separating in 2019, only to reunite and get back together in early 2020.

Taking to X to share the news with her 22.9k followers, Malone penned: "It’s with total heartbreak I write this my husband Paul chase Malone passed away this morning."

"We are totally devastated," the actor signed off.

Before long, Malone was inundated with messages of condolence from concerned fans and followers.

"I’m truly sorry for your loss. My condolences to you and your family," one fan penned before a second said: "I am so sorry for your heartbreaking loss. My thoughts are with you and Flame xx."

A third weighed in: "Oh no so very sorry for your loss and my condolences to you and yours."

Before a fourth said: "I’m so sorry for your loss Tina. I don’t know you or the man you clearly loved with all your heart, but my heart breaks for you as I can only imagine how truly devastating it would feel if the man I love with all my heart passed away as he inevitably will."

"What?? Oh Tina, I can't believe this," a fifth added in disbelief.

Chase is survived by his wife Malone as well as their 11-year-old daughter, Flame.

Malone hasn't provided a cause of death for Chase at the time of writing.

While Malone has been a familiar presence on UK TV during her career, Chase spent much of his time out of the spotlight.

However, he had joined Malone for a handful of TV interviews including stints on Loose Women and This Morning.
