Britain's Got Talent second semi-finals kicked off tonight with the next round of acts keen to impress

Britain's Got Talent judge Amanda Holden left ITV viewers distracted and confused just minutes into the show, with many comparing her outfit to a "meringue".

Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly kicked off the second round of semi-finals tonight and, as always, introduced Holden, Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon and Bruno Tonioli to the stage.

Holden donned a white dress which had a wavy effect, looping into two huge shoulder pads, however, many viewers were left confused with the fashion choice and took to their X accounts to discuss.

One viewer expressed: "Oh Amanda your dress looks like a chandelier tonight hideous but you’re beautiful not a fan of those dresses."

"Amanda wearing a meringue?" one suggested before a third added: "I do like Amanda's dress. Must be quite hard to manoeuvre through doors though."

Another fan expressed: "What the hell is Amanda wearing? It’s hideous."

"Amanda wearing a slinky? I wonder if she falls down stairs one step at a time..." a fifth teased before a sixth penned: "Is Amanda wearing the Argos Party Princess dress?"

Not all were unimpressed with Holden's style, as one impressed user praised: "Amanda Holden is just as elegant as ever! Love seeing all her amazing outfits throughout the finals." (sic)

During the first semi-final on Monday night, Ssaulabi Performance Troupe wowed judges during their audition and impressed both audiences at home, making it through to the final.

However, despite the troupe looking to be a fan favourite to win the 2024 series and perform at the Royal Variety Show.

According to the latest odds from William Hill, Innocent Masuku is the favourite to be crowned Britain's Got Talent winner, leaving the Ssaulabi Performance Troupe not in the greatest position.

Their odds price dropped from 20/1 to 16/1, with William Hill spokesperson Lee Phelps noting: "Innocent Masuku certainly hit the right notes with the judges last night and he seems to have struck a chord with punters too as his price to win this year’s Britain’s Got Talent has shrunk to just 5/2 from 12/1 at the weekend.

"The opera star now leads Denise & Stefan and Haribow, while other semi-final winners The Ssaulabi Performance Troupe have only shortened slightly into 16/1 and remain relative outsiders despite already being in the final."

It comes as many felt that singer Taryn Charles was "robbed" of her place in the final.

"Erm Taryn was robbed #BGT," a fan fumed while another agreed: "Poor Taryn - she was so good. #BGT."

However, reasoning with the comment, one replied: "If she was the only singer on tonight she might have done, but Innocent Masuku blew her out the arena." (sic)
