BBC viewers rage at Women's World Cup show after 'rude' coverage and schedule confusion

Gabby Logan and a team of panelists fronted the first game of this year's Women's World Cup between New Zealand and Norway
Coverage of this year's Women's World Cup held in Australia and New Zealand is being shared across the BBC and ITV's platforms.
However, on the opening day of the tournament, it was the BBC who aired the first match between New Zealand and Norway live from Eden Park, Auckland.
Experienced presenter Gabby Logan took the reins of proceedings as she welcomed former Lionesses Alex Scott and Ellen White as well as football coach Jonas Eidevall to the punditry team.
Ahead of kick-off, the panel held in-depth discussions about their predictions for the tournament as well as England's chances of stopping the USA from winning a third World Cup in a row.
The BBC also offered viewers the chance to watch the tournament's opening ceremony, although this was only accessible via the network's iPlayer while the match would be broadcast on BBC One.

This meant the BBC also had to reshuffle its regular programming on the day, with BBC Breakfast switching to BBC Two at the 7:30am mark.
Complaints soon rolled in from those who were keen to watch the tournament get underway with many taking issue with the lack of attention given to the opening ceremony and the opening fixture.
One viewer took to Twitter to hit out: "@BBCMOTD I get were English so you're gonna talk about England, but it is New Zealand Vs Norway and neither team has been mentioned.... #BBC #WTF #FIFAWWC." (sic)
While a second also took issue with the panel seemingly ignoring the match at hand: "Who at the BBC thought yeah, let's do a segment analysing england using clips from their match against norway (you know, the team that's actually about to kick off) instead of showing the opening ceremony that sets up the whole tournament #FIFAWWC."
Another irked viewer branded the entire format as "rude" as they weighed in: "BBC approach to the World Cup opening ceremony - as we saw with Qatar, now with NZ - seems rather rude.
"It’s on iPlayer, but not on red button. There’s space for a box-out on main channel. It should be more easily accessible, or at least flagged to BBC1 viewers more. #FIFAWWC."
And a fourth viewer was displeased with the BBC's shake-up, arguing: "Why put @FIFAWWC on BBC1 rather than BBC2?
"I know @BBCBreakfast has switched channels - but BBC2 can't handle regional round-ups. Who cares which channel the football is on
"Everyone has access to all channels - all the BBC is really doing is closing down regional news."
LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:
Alex Scott will be a regular pundit throughout the BBC's coverage of the tournament

However, despite the disappointment with the BBC's coverage and format of the tournament, some viewers were quick to praise elements of the broadcast.
This included one fan who complimented both the BBC and ITV's leading stars: "#Gabbylogan and #laurawoods as always doing a sterling job for their respective channels so far presenting the women's world cup." (sic)
BBC Breakfast fans will be pleased to know that Friday's broadcast won't be interrupted by the sport as BBC Two will instead air Spain and Costa Rica's clash from 8:15am.
ITV's Good Morning Britain, on the other hand, will be off the air entirely as the network airs Switzerland's clash with the Philippines from 5:50am.
