Wolf is the latest six-part drama series to hit the network

Crime drama fans have been tuning into the BBC's latest offering in droves since it premiered on July 31.

Wolf boasts a star-studded cast who bring Mo Hayder’s acclaimed Jack Caffery novels to life on-screen.

However, with just two episodes airing on BBC One so far - although the entire series is available to stream on iPlayer - fans have taken issue with how the BBC has formatted the show.

After each episode of the mind-bending drama, the BBC airs a preview of what's to come in the next instalment.

But with so many cliffhangers on offer, several viewers have slammed the BBC's decision to do so, with some claim the network is "spoiling" its own content.

Taking to Twitter following the second episode's debut on August 1, one fan fumed: "The BBC spoiling the next episode of Wolf at the end of the previous one is a baffling decision. #bbcwolf."

While a second echoed: "The annoying thing about #Wolf is they give away half of the next episode at the end."

Meanwhile, another disgruntled viewer hit out: "Why, in this day and age do they still show previews of the next flamin’ episode? Previews = Spoilers #wolf."

And another also slammed the decision: "The long preview at the end is annoying #wolf."

Elsewhere, a fifth fan sarcastically remarked: "No preview of next week, gutted! Said no one ever! #wolf."

The move may have left those tuning in to the drama's terrestrial broadcast disappointed, but many who've binged the series in its entirety online offered differing opinions.

Defending the series, one fan shared: "Bloody loved #wolf on BBC. The fear, the horror, the dark dark comedy. Brilliant! But the ending?!"

The drama is led by Ukweli Roach in the leading role of DI Jack Caffery following stints on-screen in Blindspot, The Midwich Cuckoos and The Royals.

He's supported in the cast by Game of Thrones star Iwan Rheon, Doctor Who's Sacha Dhawan, Bend It Like Beckham's Juliet Stevenson and many other big names.

The BBC's official synopsis for the series reads: "DI Jack Caffery is a young man searching for himself.

"Obsessed with the neighbour he believes murdered his 10 year-old brother in the 90s, Jack finds himself trying to right the wrongs of others - but at what cost?

"In an isolated house in Monmouthshire, the wealthy Anchor-Ferrers family find themselves the victims of a psychopath’s cruel games, trapped and terrorised.

"When the two narratives collide, it’s a thrilling, nail-biting and deeply disturbing race against time."
