Host Claudia Winkleman seemed to have a few tricks up her sleeve

Friday's The Traitors saw the first true "villain" of the group finally being banished in a tense roundtable.

With further twists and turns, the faithfuls and traitors began to turn on each other, with Armani ending up leaving - and revealing the shocking truth.

Armani's sister Maia even turned on her at one point. While she didn't vote for her sister to be banished, the 25-year-old did admit to the group she'd had her suspicions about Armani.

However, when she was banished Maia burst into tears, confessing she felt torn about the triumph for the faithfuls and the betrayal against her sister.

However, what got fans talking was the way in which the intense episode ended, which they believe was a return to a "brutal" twist from episode one.

The debut of series three saw the big group of contestants travelling together to the Scottish castle to take part in the psychological game, but during the journey, the train abruptly pulled to a stop.

At that point, host Claudia WInkleman explained three people would need to be "sacrificed" in order for the prize pot to gain its first sum of cash.

Starting at £10,000, she explained for each minute taken to decide who was leaving from each carriage, £1,000 would be lost.

In the end, Alexander, Fazia and Jack took the noble decision to leave the train, with the three seemingly out of the competition.

Some viewers predicted at the time the trio would come back, and the additional footage on Friday's episode seemed to confirm their prediction.

It wasn't revealed who the remaining traitors, Linda and Minah, had decided to 'murder'

As the two remaining traitors decided on who they would be "murdering" next, footage cut to an area nearby the castle as masked people could be seen arriving by horse and carriage.

A sign read "Rail Replacement" before the credits rolled, leaving stunned viewers taking to X to share their thoughts.

One penned: "A twist at the end could this be the those thrown off train #TheTraitors."

"Rail replacements?? Does this mean the other 3 are coming #TheTraitors," a second shared.

"#TheTraitors the volunteers on their way back," another echoed.

"That's the 3 original banished ones back then #TheTraitors," a fourth predicted.

Another user posted: "The rail replacement service turning up 3 days later on that’s a bit too real I fear #thetraitors."

"KNEW IT!!! #TheTraitors," one simply shared, with another pleading: "Please tell me that’s Tall Jack from episode one heading to the castle! #TheTraitors." (sic)

In last night's episode, two were kicked out of the group during round tables, with Nathan banished first.

Kevin was then "murdered" by the traitors before Elen was the second to be eliminated.

While the three traitors, Armani, Linda and Minah, seem to be keeping under the radar for the most part, viewers were distracted by faithful Charlotte, who was using an unusual tactic to keep herself in a good light. In the first episode, she was faking her Welsh accent to appear more "trustworthy".

Her tactic hasn't appeared to be successful, with genuine Welsh contestant Elen banished. Furthermore, many expressed their suspicions about Charlotte herself.
