Strictly Come Dancing star Nikita Kanda has opened up about being “randomly attacked” in broad daylight.
The radio presenter, 28, took part in last year’s BBC dance competition alongside Gorka Marquez and the pair made it to week two.
Kanda informed her social media followers about the shock incident, explaining how her attacker had “laughed” following the random assault.
It took place after she finished her shift for the BBC Asian Network Breakfast radio show.
Taking to Instagram, Kanda posted in view of her 36,000 followers: “Today something really scary happened and I feel the need to share it.”
She went on to explain she’d been “minding my own business looking at my phone” before an unknown man approached her.

“A random guy decided to hit me in the face for no reason at all and laughed about it,” she penned.
She reflected: “I’m in utter shock that someone can do this. I’ve lived in London my whole life and something like this has never happened.
“It’s just absolutely disgusting that someone can do this in broad daylight and what was even more sad is that no one around me cared or batted an eyelid that someone just hit me in public.”
She took the opportunity to warn her followers to be cautious and assured them the police are taking the incident seriously.
