A number of viewers took to social media to slam the distracting ensemble

Saturday Kitchen fans didn't know where to look during this weekend's edition of the BBC Saturday morning favourite following one guest's outfit choice.

In order to celebrate "National Cheese Toastie Day", host Matt Tebbutt welcomed the owners of Scottish eatery The Cheesy Toast Shack to demonstrate how to make their most popular dish, a Mac 'n' Cheese Toastie.

Sam Larg and his partner Kate Carter-Larg joined Tebbutt in the kitchen to show viewers how to make the mouth-watering dish.

Larg opted for an oversized pink linen shirt for the occasion, similar to host Tebbutt's navy shirt and grey tee combination.

Carter-Larg, on the other hand, caught the eye as she decided to wear a low-cut tube crop top for the demo.

During the demonstration, Larg mainly focussed on the mac 'n' cheese concoction, melting different cheeses in a hot pan with pre-cooked elbow macaroni.

Meanwhile, Carter-Larg focussed her attention on assembling the toastie and cooking it in a hot pan.

While the conversation stayed on the step-by-step recipe and history of their shack, viewers at home were distracted by the number of times Carter-Larg could be seen adjusting or pulling up her top.

Social media site X soon became flooded with viewers' critiques of the segment, with many suggesting Carter-Larg should've opted for a different outfit.

"I can't concentrate on the show for worrying about her top falling down. She's pulling and tugging it as it keeps slipping #SaturdayKitchen," one distracted fan complained.

A second echoed: "Someone hand her an apron! No one is listening to what they have to say…just waiting for the top to fall #SaturdayKitchen."

"#Saturdaykitchen what is that woman now wearing, it's a cooking show, not a night out," a third blasted.

And a fourth similarly weighed in: "Wardrobe issues can definitely take attention away from the show itself. Hopefully, it gets sorted out quickly so everyone, including her, can feel more at ease...#SaturdayKitchen."

"Has Kate just arrived back from a night out in 2005?? Wtf?! #Saturdaykitchen," a fifth added before a sixth slammed: "Totally inappropriate #SaturdayKitchen." (sic)

However, on Instagram, fans rushed to the show's official account to express their delight at supporting the independent business.

And Carter-Larg also hit back at the criticism she faced in the comments of a post about the aforementioned toastie on the Saturday Kitchen page.

Via The Cheesy Toast Shack's page, Carter-Larg hit back at the criticism as she thanked one follower who jumped to her defence in the comments of a post.

"Thanks! I felt really good so I’m happy I wore it!" Carter-Larg commented to one follower who defended her outfit choice.
