Tommy Walsh, 67, will be "definitely missed" by his Homes Under the Hammer colleagues following the reports he'd been axed from the BBC show, an upcoming star of the show has told GB News.
Walsh, who revealed back in November he'd had a third cancer scare after discovering a "three-centimetre tumour" in his lung, has reportedly been replaced by weatherman Owain Wyn Evans after wrapping up his final scenes last year.
The Homes Under the Hammer star has been open and honest about his experience with the illness, having previously had surgery to remove lumps in his chest and throat.
The 67-year-old will now be taking time away from the screen following the decision to bring Owain Wyn Evans onto the show.
Reflecting on Walsh's tenure on the show, GB News spoke to Announce Property founder and property consultant Moses Bright who recently spent time filming with the BBC crew for the next series of Homes Under the Hammer.
While Bright didn't get the chance to film with Walsh, he was full of praise for the presenter and commended his expertise on the BBC daytime staple.
"He's done a fantastic job," Bright told GB News. "Everyone comes with their own personality and I think that's why the show is so good. You have Dion [Dublin], you have Tommy, and they all have their own way of doing things and because people can relate to them (it works).

"It's a loved show and when you've watched over time - you can watch every single day, Monday to Friday... it's just unfortunate that he's leaving. He's been replaced and we have to respect that.
"He's a family man himself, he's a human being and that was his decision to come off the show so he can take time off to work on his own health and his own wellbeing.
"But I do know that he will be missed. Definitely. Because of his personality and how he presents, how he relates, how he talks about the property, you can tell his passion there."
Continuing to lament Walsh and the Homes Under the Hammer team's efforts, Bright added: "These are not guys just coming to the show (and) going on TV to show you that this is a house that's dilapidated, there's a lot of work, and let's see what they're gonna do about it.
"They're actually invested in the show, they care about people - and I got that from Dion. Off the camera, he's talking to you (and) is really interested in you as a person.

"Obviously you don't really see that side when you're off the camera but these guys do care. They love what they do.
"And honestly, I wish Tommy all the best and I hope things turn around. And if there's an opportunity for him to come back, I'm sure - definitely viewers would like to see him again doing something like this. So yeah, definitely all the best to him but he will be missed."
The BBC declined to comment on Walsh's exit when contacted by GB News earlier this month.
Bright's appearance alongside Dublin is set to air on the BBC later this year, although the property expert - whose company's unique streamlined buying and selling process is making waves in the property sphere - is yet to be told exactly when.

He has, however, already been told by producers they'd be keen to have him back and the opportunity to work with Dublin again is one Bright would relish.
Complimenting the former Aston Villa and Coventry City footballer, Bright said: "I'd watched him on TV. You know when you watch someone on TV and you think, 'This is the footballer I watched when I was younger!'

"(But) his knowledge is incredible. He knows what he's doing. He's an investor himself, and you can tell he's actually invested in property so he's beyond a presenter. I mean, he knows about properties.
"So there's there's a level of experience in there which makes it quite easy.
"Because if you are a presenter on that show and you know a lot about property, it comes out. He's a natural.
"He's very relaxed. He makes you very relaxed on set. And he just comes in and goes straight at it. For him, there wasn't a lot of takes because he knows - like when I told him what I was going to do... he knew how that would pan out.
"He knows a lot about property and is very, very, very, very educated about the property industry," Bright commended.
