Gavin and Stacey fans were delighted to hear recently the series would be returning for one final episode this Christmas.
While the BBC comedy officially wrapped up back in early 2010, a number of Christmas specials have entertained viewers since, with the last airing in 2019.
The episode ended on a huge cliffhanger, with Nessa (played by Ruth Jones) proposing to Smithy (James Corden).
Ever since, fans have been hoping for another instalment and now creators Jones and Croden have confirmed this year the series will conclude for good with a final special.
While the huge fan reaction was expected, one thing which has come as a bizarre twist is animal charity Peta has written to the writers to urge them to make key character Pam (Alison Steadman) a vegan.
One of the ongoing storylines of the series was how Pam had pretended to be a vegetarian after wrongly assuming her daughter-in-law Stacey's (Joanna Page) family weren't meat-eaters.

Peta has now requested the character reveal she is now a vegan in the final instalment.
One of the memorable episodes sees Pam concerned about become known as "Three Steaks Pam" after she substitutes her food for additional steaks for a diet.
Referencing this, Peta has suggested Pam becomes "Three Tofu Blocks Pam" and tuck into a meat-free Christmas dinner.
A letter written to the show's writers from Peta Vice President of Programmes Elisa Allen reads: "By making Pam vegan for the finale, you'll ensure that – whether or not she gets 'drunk, drunk' this Christmas – she'll enjoy a 'well lush' spread while sparing clever pigs, curious turkeys, and industrious fish suffering.

"This act of compassion promoting a better tomorrow for everyone would be a wonderful note on which to end such a beloved series."
One hilarious scene in the show saw Pam being caught by Stacey eating meat, leading the latter to cry: "You're eating ham, Pam!"
The news about the final episode was announced earlier this month, with Corden posting a snap of himself with Jones holding a script for the episode they've written together.
"Some news… It’s official!!!" Corden began in the accompanying caption. "We have finished writing the last ever episode of Gavin and Stacey.
