The gardening expert took a long hiatus from screens

Gardener Charlie Dimmock only returned to screens over the last few years after becoming a household name in the late 1990s with her green-fingered skills.

Earlier this year, Dimmock featured in a new series of the BBC's Garden Rescue which left fans taking to social media to applaud her.

When the episodes aired, viewers were quick to note her TV transformation as they reflected on her long career in the gardening world.

Taking to X, one penned: "It's amazing to see how much Charlie Dimmock has transformed over the years!

"From her nineties TV debut alongside Alan Titchmarsh to her current role on Garden Rescue, she has certainly come a long way. It's great to see her still passionate about gardening and bringing joy to so many people. Keep up the great work, Charlie!"

She took a long hiatus from television after tragically losing her mother and stepfather in the 2004 tsunami in Thailand, the Express reports.

The disaster claimed the lives of approximately 230,000 people, according to charity World Vision.

Making her television comeback, Dimmock went on to join the team on Garden Rescue back in 2016 and presents the BBC show today.

One of the latest episodes she fronted saw her transforming the garden of guests Emma and Nathan, creating a "Balinese paradise".
