The incendiary scripts were discovered by a businessman on his way to work
An unnamed star of the iconic BBC soap EastEnders narrowly avoided spoiling the show’s eagerly awaited Christmas plotline.
The star - who hasn't been named by the press - left bombshell “rehearsal scripts” on a train where they were discovered by a businessman on his way to work.
On the morning of October 31, the businessman discovered the discarded papers on the ThamesLink train at Elstree & Borehamwood station in Hertfordshire.
The businessman's wife, a 30-year-old primary school tutor, said her husband isn’t “much of a soap fan but he knows I love them, so told me straight away".
“I couldn’t wait to read the script and wasn’t disappointed,” she told The Sun.
The wife also revealed they knew who had mislaid the script because "her lines were highlighted and there were Post-it notes with scribbled writing stuck to the pages".

“There was also a page with the actress’s filming schedule written in pencil,” she added.
The good Samaritan couple "desperately” wanted to return the scripts to the actress within an hour of finding them.
The 30-year-old worried the actress “might be in a panic over losing it” and immediately messaged her on Instagram.
She felt it was especially urgent as the scripts revealed a huge spoiler for the festive episodes
The scripts were handed over to Colin Salmon, who plays Queen Vic barman George Knight

"There’s a real twist that will shock everyone and a main character is killed off,” the wife revealed.
After getting no responses from the actress on Instagram, the couple got in touch with The Sun.
Instead of spoiling the plotline for soap fans, the tabloid chose to hand the scripts back to the BBC in an on-set handover to actor Colin Salmon, who plays Queen Vic barman George Knight.
On Monday, an EastEnders spokeswoman delivered a “big thank you” for the safe return of the bombshell scripts.
“We know just how much the audience loves watching the drama unfold for themselves, rather than having it spoilt,” she continued.
The spokeswoman concluded: “The surprises will remain a treat this Christmas and beyond.”
