BBC Celebrity Mastermind fans distracted by ‘sulking’ soap star after disaster performance: ‘Pathetic!’

Celebrity Mastermind fans were put off by the behaviour of Emmerdale star Danny Miller during Monday’s edition on the long-running BBC quiz show.
The 34-year-old earned just 10 points across both the specialist subject and general knowledge round.
Host Clive Myrie welcomed Miller, TV presenter Josie D’Arby, BBC weather presenter Elizibeth Rizzini and sports broadcaster Qasa Alom to the infamous chair.
Rizzini emerged first place with an impressive score of 23, leaving in fourth Miller flagging with only 10.
The Emmerdale star scored seven points in his specialist subject, the works of children’s author Julia Donaldson, and a mere three on general knowledge.
Topping the misery, viewers were particularly amused by his response to Myrie’s question: “The Latin term regina, often abbreviated to the letter R for instance in royal ciphers, translates into English as what word for a female monarch?”

“Monsignor,” answered a deflated Miller.
Myrie quickly revealed that the title he was looking for was in fact “queen”.
Following his disappointing performance, Miller spent the rest of the show sulking in his chair.
As the other contestants took on the Myrie’s questions, he could be seen in the background glowering - arms crossed and legs kicked out before him in frustration.

The 34-year-old was also seen stretching and scratching himself, appearing to pantomime boredom.
In a reversal of the public favour that crowed him King of the Jungle in 2021’s I’m a Celebrity, viewers quickly turned on Miller.
“The guy from Emmerdale. Sulking. Pathetic,” one slammed.
Another observed: “That Danny bloke looks furious. His body language as well…. He wants out of there.”
“That Danny chap looks like a right sulky brat,” a third wrote.
“Danny Miller on Mastermind...” a fourth wrote accompanied with a gif of famous meme grumpy cat.

Others compared the Emmerdale star’s behaviour to Macy Gray’s meltdown after being revealed on the latest Masked Singer – where the American singer stormed off stage.
One wrote: “I thought Danny was going to have a Macy Gray moment just then! Or internally implode!”
“Danny Miller doing a proper Macy Gray strop on,” another complained.
However, some viewers took some pity on Miller.
“I felt sorry for him - he didn't look like he was having a good time,” one wrote empathetically.
