The guest was stunned by the valuation given to the music collection

Jon Baddeley was able to deliver some fantastic news to an Antiques Roadshow guest who couldn't contain their excitement in a classic episode of the BBC favourite.

It came as guest Jim appeared as a guest on the valuation show with a range of items he had managed to collect during time he had been working in security.

"What a fantastic collection of posters, concert tickets, photographs - relating to some of the all-time greats of rock and roll history," Baddeley exclaimed before asking: "How did you accumulate it all?"

"I got a job with them, running the security," Jim detailed before adding: "But I wasn't a bouncer, they're different kind of people. I wouldn't do that.

"I'd just say, 'This is where I want you,' and whatever." He went on to say he'd work with The Monkees, The Osmonds, Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, The Who and David Bowie.

The guest he was with added: "And Live Aid, he did the whole security for Live Aid as well."

"I can't see any gaps on that list at all, the all-time greats," the antiques specialist beamed.

He noted: "We've got his fantastic Warhol image of Mick Jagger, dedicated to you.

"It says, 'To Jim, thanks for all your help, especially at the lighting board.' What does that relate to?"

Jim went on to describe a memorable incident, explaining: "Well, what happened was we were in Japan and Mick surprised me by saying he wants to go from the lighting board to the stage, [he said]: 'so you've got to get me out there and get me back to the stage.'

"So we carried him to the stage - the crowd just went barmy, they just went mad.

"He thought he was going to die. He was going, 'Jim we're going to die,' and I was going, 'we ain't dying here!'"

He continued: "I've got to take my hat off to him, he finished the show off, the crowd went wild - it was good

"And at the end of it - he's never done this before - he hugged me and said, 'you saved my life.'"

"Fantastic," Baddeley enthused, continuing: "What a great story. Now, the pieces I particularly like are these four small postcards - all portraits of Mick Jagger by Andy Warhol, and he made big format prints of these.

"But what makes them very, very special is they're actually signed by Warhol and by Jagger.

"The postcards are not that rare but to be signed by both is very, very special."

The antiques expert went on to add: "You must have amazing memories."

"I'm putting it all down," Jim replied, to which Baddeley agreed: "It needs to be put in a book. You've just given us a few stories but rock memorabilia keeps going up and up in value.

"This set of postcards alone, because they're dedicated and signed, are worth probably, for the set, in the region of £3,500 to £5,000.

"The posters without the dedication - a few hundred pounds, with the dedication, £1,000 to £1,500."

The presenter eventually gave the full valuation, explaining: "So this is just part of your collection that you brought along today but you've told me about the others, shown me the photographs - not all of it's on view now but we're talking about a figure of between £15,000 and £20,000."

Astonished, Jim replied: "Praise the Lord!" While he didn't give away his plans for the collection Baddeley went on: "A lifetime of collecting, but something to treasure or sell as you wish."

"It's for the grandchildren, Jim," the guest's friend joked before Jim admitted: "Well, you know, don't want to leave them too much!"
