Body language specialist Darren Stanton spoke exclusively to GB News about Fiona Harvey's TV interview

Baby Reindeer has become a huge Netflix success, with the series garnering almost 54 million views since making its debut on April 11.

Based on the true story of comedian Richard Gadd's stalker, named "Martha" in the show, it didn't take long for internet sleuths to start trying to piece together who the real life Martha is.

Recently, Fiona Harvey revealed herself as the alleged inspiration for the programme, and controversially did an interview with Piers Morgan for his YouTube show Uncensored last week.

The 58-year-old told Morgan she didn't stalk Gadd and that she sent him "a handful" of emails - not the 41,000 reported in the series. She made several other claims during the interview, many of which contradicted the depiction of Martha in the Netflix drama.

Speaking exclusively to GB News, body language expert Darren Stanton has shared some analysis of Harvey's body language and what it could reveal about her comments.

"People that are being honest, they'll display more congruent signs with what they're saying," he explained.

"So an angry person, their body language will be consistent. So they'll probably stand up or do a finger jab, accentuate what they're saying, with their fingers or hands.

"It's almost like nonverbal punctuation. And then also, verbally, people will tend to not mirror.

"So if you're a police officer and I'm a suspect and you say, 'Be honest, did you burgle that building?' If they're innocent, they'll protest and they'll go on their own sort of rant.

"Whereas a guilty person, they will tend to mirror your language because they want to seem plausible. So, 'did you cheat on that person?' They'll go, 'No, I didn't cheat on that person,' so they'll mirror."

He continued: "They also use sarcasm which is what she [Harvey] did. So when Morgan said, 'Did you do it?' Basically, the way she replied wasn't consistent with what an innocent person would do.

"So we've got about nine or 10 clusters of behaviour, so 'red flags' I call them. She did exhibit a lot of these things.

"For example, when she was asked something, her blink rate changed. She also made a joke out of it whereas an innocent person wouldn't being wrongly accused.

"She was just sort of sarcastic and she realised on one of them, when asked if she dated him and she said something like, 'I don't date little boys without jobs,' and then she took a breath.

"Then she kind of went, 'Oh that sounds terrible doesn't it, I don't mean that,' but she did. What calmness conceals, anger reveals."

When asked about Harvey's state of mind, Stanton admitted: "She does display signs of being quite a bit of a fantasist so yeah - I think there's something quite odd about her really."

Gadd, 35, recently explained his feelings regarding fans of the show wanting to find out the real-life identities of characters.

Speaking to Hollywood Reporter, he stated: "I don’t agree with the sleuth thing.

"I’ve put out a statement publicly saying I want the show to be received as a piece of art, and I want the show to people to enjoy as a piece of art.

"I’m called Donny Dunn. It exists in a sort of fictional realm, even though it’s based on truth, it exists in a fictional realm, let’s enjoy the world that I’ve created.

"If I wanted the real-life people to be found, I would’ve made it a documentary. I’ve spoken publicly about how I don’t want people to do it and if I start playing a game of whack-a-mole, then I’m almost adding to it. I don’t think I’ll ever comment on it ever again."
