JLS singer and former Strictly Come Dancing star Aston Merrygold has paid tribute to an "original JLS team member" following their death.
Dancer Jack Pointer-Mackenzie had toured with the band for over a decade between 2009 and 2021 prior to his death on Tuesday.
Merrygold took to Instagram to pay tribute to Pointer-Mackenzie as he penned: "RIP Captain," followed by praying emojis before branding him an "original JLS team member".
The singer then followed this up with a clip of the band performing on stage with Pointer-Mackenzie.
He captioned over the top of the video: "Captain Jack always with the vibe from 2009 and beyond!
"A phenomenal team member!" Merrygold continued as he included a praying emoji once again.

Merrygold's initial post included an announcement by Base Dance Studios which had shared: "A unique gift, who shall be sorely missed.
"Thank you for sharing your talent with us, Jack Nathaniel Pointer-Mackenzie," it penned.
JLS' verified Instagram account also shared the announcement from Base Dance Studios with the caption: "RIP to Captain Jack... a day one JLS dancer."
Fans have shared tributes of their own as they took to the comments section of the studios' post shared by Merrygold.

One follower penned: "RIP Jack - heart goes out to your friends and family. Nothing beats a day one dancer x."
A second echoed: "Much love, these news have been in my mind and heart for few weeks, processing still everything we can learn from him."
And a third weighed in: "So sad! RIP Jack, thinking of his family & friends at this very difficult time."
While a fourth said: "He was an amazing person and an amazing artist. I loved watching him dance," followed by a love heart emoji.

Pointer-Mackenzie worked closely with the band following their shot to stardom on ITV's The X Factor.
Merrygold is joined by fellow singers and friends Marvin Humes, JB Gill and Oritse Williams in the chart-topping four-piece.
The BRIT Award-winning band has seen huge chart success over the years thanks to singles including Everybody in Love, Beat Again, One Shot, and Love You More among others.
JLS disbanded in 2013 after heading on a farewell tour but reunited in 2020.
