Angelina Jolie has broken her silence for the first time since finalising her eight-year divorce battle with Brad Pitt after their initial breakup in 2019.
The actress, 49, who walked away with an $80m settlement, spoke out just weeks after her lawyer confirmed the divorce was settled last month.
The former couple, who met whilst filming Mr and Mrs Smith in 2005, had been locked in a contentious split involving custody disputes and battles over their shared assets.
The divorce settlement proved lucrative for Jolie, with the bulk coming from her $64m sale of 50 percent of the Château Miraval estate to the Stoli Group in 2021.
She also sold a Winston Churchill painting, gifted by Pitt, 61, for $11.5m at Christie's auction.
Brad Pitt had previously loaned Jolie $8m to purchase her Los Angeles mansion, whilst also paying over $1.3m in bills for her and their six children.

The former couple had a prenuptial agreement in place to split their joint capital and keep individual pre-marriage assets.
In an interview with W Magazine, Jolie revealed her strong stance against dishonesty.
"My pet peeve is somebody who is a liar," she told the magazine. "Somebody who feels a need to not say the truth or what they want, what they feel."
She elaborated further: "There's a big version of that—and I'm not trying to be heavy about it—but people who say one thing and mean another, who aren't completely who they are. I think a lot of people don't say what they mean."

Jolie's lawyer, James Simon, stated she is "relieved this one part is over" following the settlement.
Simon further explained to Daily Mail: "More than eight years ago, Angelina filed for divorce from Mr Pitt. She and the children left all of the properties they had shared with Mr Pitt, and since that time she has focused on finding peace and healing for their family."
The former couple remain embroiled in a dispute over their vineyard, with Pitt contesting Jolie's sale to the Stoli Group, owned by Russian-born billionaire Yuri Shefler.
"They purchased Miraval with the intent of keeping it 100 percent in the family," a source close to Pitt said, as reported by Daily Mail.
The source continued: "They were going to hand this down for their children so that one day they could run the business, and it would provide all of them a lucrative and stable future."
Pitt has argued that his ex-wife's move to sell was an attempt to "intentionally damage" his reputation.

Pitt also does not have contact with any of the couple's six children following a bitter custody battle, according to another insider.
Jolie maintained custody of their children while Pitt was granted visitation rights after the 61-year-old actor attempted to put a 50/50 arrangement in place.
