Angela Rippon sent GB News Breakfast host Stephen Dixon an email ahead of her first live Strictly Come Dancing show, telling him: "We're locked in the studios".
With security so tight on the set of the popular Saturday night dance show, contestants had been asked to arrive early in order to prepare for the first main show of the series.
Dixon spoke about the message he received from Rippon, who reguarly presents on GB News, this morning.
In conversation with showiz journalist Stephanie Takyi he said: "What about security in all of this? Because i got an email from Angela yesterday morning.
"I sent her a little email to say 'good luck, I'm thinking about you'.
"And she emailed back and said 'we're locked in the studios. We're locked in the building'. And that was at like 11 o'clock in the morning.
"She was like, 'there's no escape'."
Rippon has been tipped by the bookies to go all the way to the final of the BBC competition after the 78-year-old wowed on last night's show.
