Angel Adoree admitted she had been left feeling "queasy" after her husband Dick Strawbridge made a grim confession.
The 64-year-old reflected on the Escape to the Chateau couple's podcast - Dick & Angel's Chat...Eau - about how he had once eaten a mouse while filming a survival series and left no details to the imagination.
The pair starred in Channel 4 series Escape to the Chateau from 2016 to 2022, chronicling their journey from buying and revamping a French chateau to turn into a thriving home and business.
While the series has now concluded, the two reflect on their journey and other parts of their life on Dick & Angel’s Chat…Eau.
In the latest episode released this week, Strawbridge confessed he had once eaten mice.
"You know I ate mice? When we were doing the survival (show) - our first year in France, filming for National Geographic," he began to his wife, Adoree, 46.

"Did they not feed you?" Adoree laughed, to which the former army office replied: "No, it was survival training - the survival stuff we did, we were out in the forests of Washington State, near Oregon."
He continued: "We had this wonderfully organised... [it was] big lumberjacks and we were living off the forest.
"There was a hunting ban so we weren't allowed to hunt. When you're doing survival, that doesn't leave you a lot of options for what you can eat. So we ended up eating mice and beans."
"Oh my gosh," Adoree replied, sounding appalled.
"It sounds-" she continued but her husband cut her off, explaining: "We had some mousetraps so we set some mouse traps and ended up eating mice."

He went on: "We had a big pack of beans and some flour for making pancakes, so we had mice pancakes and beans."
"Oh my gosh, that's made me feel really, really queasy," Adoree admitted.
"It's even worse than that," Strawbridge warned her, adding: "Do you know what mice taste of?"
"Mouse," Adoree joked before her husband detailed: "The bottom of a mouse cage smells... that's what it tastes of."

He went on: "You cook it well, you pull it out of the pan by its tail and then you lift it up to your mouth and suck and pull so all the bones come out."
"You're taking the mickey now..." a horrified Adoree commented but her husband assured her it had been true, responding: "You suck it all out and you have a skeleton-y thing left."
"Are you joking?" Adoree quizzed, to which Strawbridge replied: "I'm not joking - you need proteins."
As he continued to describe the process of eating the mouse, a disgusted Adoree remarked: "I feel really sick."
