Angel Adoree labels French feature 'utterly grim' as she compares it with UK equivalent: 'Horrible!'

Angel Adoree and husband Dick Strawbridge reflected on an experience in France which the mother-of-two found "utterly grim".
The Escape to the Chateau stars, who found fame on the show when they shared their journey moving to a French chateau, recently embarked on a new tour of the UK and have been sharing the experiences on their podcast, Dick and Angel's... Chat Eau.
In their latest episode, the two detailed their visit to Harrogate, which reminded them of an experience in Vichy, France.
The area is known for its mineral springs and is steeped in history.
"Everywhere we go, we have more fun," Strawbridge, 65, commented as he discussed the different legs of their tour, adding: "We went to Harrogate next.
"I used to live there in the 80s, and it was interesting because we got there and auntie Jane came up to see us with Craig, who's the headmaster of the prep school.
"The children came to see us, and we literally had a lovely time. Harrogate was fun, it's very grown up actually, Harrogate feels grown up compared to the other places we went to."
Angel Adoree recalled an 'utterly grim' experience in France
Agreeing, Adoree,46, replied: "It does, I was bowled over by the buildings and the architecture, there was just so much beauty everywhere."
"It's the Vichy of Yorkshire," her husband chimed. "And they built it up on purpose to actually attract people in.
"Because we went to Vichy in France and it's the smelly waters and all these different things are good for you - the kids didn't do that with us but they got to smell the smelly water."
"Which was fantastic," Adoree commented. "So we had told the children about Vichy and in France, you could get these little mints, Vichy mints.
"And they have all the minerals and they're meant to be good for you.
"And this water... What was interesting was obviously in Vichy in France when we did it, the water springs are open and you have your different areas and the waters are good for different ailments, diseases.
"And I found it fascinating. I don't know why but I had no idea how smelly and slimy the water was going to be. The minerals in there are..."
"Horrible," Strawbridge concluded for Adoree, who exclaimed: "It was completely and utterly grim!"
She went on: "To the point that I could hardly put this cup of water near my mouth, let alone swallow it.
"I tried them all but it was absolutely, utterly grim," she reiterated."
That's in Vichy, when we did Harrogate you didn't go near them," Styrawbridge pointed out.
"Oh, I didn't go near them, but the kids went in," Andoree added.

In last week's instalment, the couple shared some sweet baby news with listeners. Reflecting on how they'd recently met their great niece, Heidi.
"She's a beautiful little baby girl," Strawbridge shared, adding: "If you've listed to the other podcasts, we did the baby shower for them."
"We've been really invested and probably no one more so than our little Dorothy!" Adoree noted.
"Dorothy has been excited, I think we couldn't have stayed any longer - we'd need to be back in the car with suitcases," her father quipped.
He continued: "Dorothy and Sarah speak quite a lot on the phone, they have little phone calls. So Dorothy's seen Heidi most days."
