Angel Adoree and Dick Strawbridge recently returned from their Dare to Do It tour in America, but the 45-year-old was left less than impressed with a decision her husband made “behind my back”.
Adoree and Strawbridge have been restoring their French Chateau since 2015 and documented the whole process on their Channel 4 series – Escape to the Chateau.
Their fans have seen the huge plot of land turn from a dilapidated mess to their forever home and the perfect location spot for luxurious weddings.
Since they have been in America, they have left their staff to tend to the grounds and keep the gardens looking as fresh as they can be.
However, upon their return, Adoree noticed that Strawbridge had made a huge decision on their trees without her – leading to a confrontation.
During their podcast – Dick & Angel’s Chat…Eau – they recalled how they felt when they first returned home which left Strawbridge to comment on how “different” it looked.
He said: “When we came up, the first impression had to be ‘Wow’ it looks so very different. The trees were pollarded.
“Completely scalped. I never would have done them like that I have no idea why Quinten did that, it’s terrible.”
Adoree added: “So I guess we are going to move on very quickly to pollarding. The trees have been completely cut off at the knees and….”
However, before she was able to finish her sentence, Strawbridge interjected: “I said that! I said they have been scalped, I have admitted it so you don’t need….”

“I know but you didn’t say the P word,” she hit back in defence before he corrected himself: “The trees have had a bit of a prune. You have accepted that it is necessary now.”
Disagreeing with his claim, she snapped: “I don’t know… I kind of accepted that you were going to do it regardless of what I have said and because the first time of you doing it behind my back.”
Stunned by the revelation, Strawbridge exclaimed: “Woah.. never, no that’s just not really what happened. The fact you didn’t understand pollarding, I didn’t realise my love, that is my defence.”
“No, no, no, let’s just agree to disagree,” Adoree noted before swiftly moving on to the main point of the conversation.

The US tour saw some of the “rowdiest ever crowd”, family reunions and taking in the history of some of the sights they managed to fit in during their busy schedule.
Adoree and Strawbridge also faced some controversy after they took their two children – Arthur and Dorothy – out of school so they could attend the tour alongside them.
