The Escape to the Chateau stars remembered a special occasion on their latest podcast episode
Angel Adoree broke down in tears as she recalled a special occasion she shared with her family five years ago.
Escape to the Chateau stars Adoree, 46 and husband Dick Strawbridge, 64, reflected on a family event in the latest instalment of their podcast, Dick & Angel's Chat...Eau.
The couple had been talking about how Adoree's parents were making preparations to celebrate their 55th wedding anniversary, which prompted them to remember the whole family getting together in 2019 for their 50th.
"It was five years ago, there's a lot that's happened in these five years," Adoree pointed out.
She continued: "It wasn't all done in one day. You had the first bit where you did all those smoked chickens on the roaster."
"A party at the Strawbridges' is not a one-day party," Strawbridge emphasised, adding: "Everybody congregates the day before, and we filled the roaster we use for the pigs, we filled it with great big chicken and this lamb because you wanted the two, and we smoked them all served them on massive platters."
Adoree enthused: "The sun was shining, it was..."
"Just the noise of everybody talking," Strawbridge cut in, continuing: "We knew we'd got it right when the party started."
"On the Friday, it was a congregation, and the smoked chicken, and that and then on the following day we had Ian, who has done a lot of photography for our weddings, and he came down and I said to him, 'Do you know what, Ian? I just know this is going to be special.'"
As her voice broke with emotion, Adoree added through tears: "I was like, 'I just want everything photographed.'"
The pair reflected on a family event
"Oh no, we're crying - we're crying ladies and gentlemen," Strawbridge confirmed.
Later, it was clear Adoree was still emotional as she choked: "It was so lovely, it was so beautiful," while she summarised the celebration from five years prior.
She went on: "Our family all got stuck in. There was so much fun and excitement."
Bursting into tears again, she managed to add: "It was like a wedding day and my mum was just absolutely loving it. We had so many photos of everyone together..."
LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:
As the episode concluded, Adoree explained her crying had been from "happy tears," before detailing: "You know, 2019... everyone got together, and then we didn't see people for a long, long, long time."
"Everything stopped," her husband agreed.
Adoree wrapped up the chat by advising listeners: "It's just a reminder to enjoy every moment of life because no one knows what's around the corner."
