Amy Dowden could be set to return to the Strictly Come Dancing cast this year after she was given the all-clear to return back to training.
Dowden has been battling breast cancer since May 2023 and was forced to pull out of last year's series due to her chemotherapy and recovery.
Keeping her fans updated, she revealed last week there was no longer any sign of the disease in her body and was able to return to the dancefloor.
Making huge leaps towards her BBC return, Dowden reposted an image on her Instagram alongside her physiotherapist and wrote: “Back on the dance floor and exciting future and plans ahead.”
Her physio - who originally posted the image - captioned it: “After the fantastic news from Amy’s latest scans, now back at it with the rehab getting back to that dance floor.”
Dowden was rushed to hospital last week after struggling to breathe but just days later she revealed her good news.
Amy revealed she was back to dance rehab and training
She posted an image on her Instagram and revealed: “No evidence of disease! Words I dreamed of! My biggest accomplishment yet!
“I won’t be getting the all-clear for 5 years, especially with a hormone-fed cancer. But it was all worth it. Words I never thought I’d hear at one point.
“So grateful for all the care I received and continue to have. I have so much to strive and live for, and so grateful for another chance at life.
“Something I know not all get. I certainly see life differently and my life has changed forever! It’s time to look ahead after what’s been the toughest year, and one I certainly didn’t expect!
“Dance floor I’m coming for you! Welsh love always Amy.” (sic)
As well as her possible return to Strictly this year, a second season of her show Dare to Dance is set to be released in a few day's time.
The show kicked off filming last year but Dowden was quickly diagnosed with cancer – leaving her Strictly co-stars to come out in force to help.
Speaking to Radio Times she explained: “We started filming, I met the contributors, and I taught them their first steps and then obviously, unfortunately, I was diagnosed with breast cancer, but I was so keen to keep the series going.

“After my mastectomy, we called upon the help of my fellow Strictly friends, my family – Dianne Buswell, Graziano Di Prima, Oti Mabuse and Carlos Gu.
“I called them and they were like, straight away, they wanted to do all they could to help me. And I think it added [to it] and I think the contributors loved the surprise of them coming in.”
