Professional dancer Amy Dowden has addressed her silence on social media of late as she revealed she'd been back in hospital again this month.
The 33-year-old was diagnosed with breast cancer in May and completed chemotherapy in November, but continues to attend hospital appointments and treatments.
Dowden has been branded an inspiration for her candid account and updates amid her ongoing battle with the illness but in 2024, she's been self-admittedly quieter on the social media front.
Earlier this month, Dowden opened up on the "anxiety" she felt as she had to return to hospital once again and now she's revealed she's been back in the care of the NHS.
Taking to Instagram, Dowden shared a series of updates from her latest stint in the hospital, and this time, she required the help of the respiratory unit.
Dowden didn't delve into the circumstances that prompted her admission to the unit but shared several candid shots of her having to use oxygen masks.

In the accompanying captions, Dowden provided context for her worried fans: "So last week didn't exactly go to plan!
"Feeling much better now and still taking it easy," she said as she tried to stay upbeat. "But can't thank the NHS and the care I received on respiratory unit enough!"
In a second update, Dowden paid tribute to her husband and her family for their support as she continues her recovery.
"Also to my family and Ben of course," she said. "Always dropping everything and spending endless hours next to my bed whilst I mainly slept."

And in a final post, Dowden wrote alongside another snap of her using an oxygen mask: "Feeling much better and thanks for the many messages after going quiet!
"Off to the oncology unit today for my monthly injection (missed it last week with being poorly). How is everyone?
"The sun is shining and I certainly can't wait for spring," Dowden signed off in her typical positive manner.
Dowden also praised a group of young dancers from her dance school who've been raising money for breast cancer charities.

Dowden's diagnosis meant she was unable to compete in last year's Strictly Come Dancing which saw Ellie Leach and Vito Coppola crowned winners.
However, despite her recent hospital visit, Dowden will soon be back on screens in a new show.
Dowden will be back on the BBC series Dare To Dance, with the pro dancer saying of her on-screen return: "When I dance, I feel like I can overcome anything.
"It’s something I want more people to experience, I really believe it can change your life."
