The Britain's Got Talent judge has called the role her "dream job"
Britain's Got Talent judge Amanda Holden is gearing up for a major career change after being signed up for an important gig.
The 53-year-old is said to be delighted by her "dream job" accomplishment after it was confirmed she'd be hosting this year's Royal Variety Performance on ITV.
Holden will be teaming up with her close friend and co-star Alan Carr for the gig, which will air later in the year.
The official X account for the event posted on Tuesday: "We are thrilled to confirm that we have not one but two fabulous hosts for #RoyalVarietyPerformance 2024!
"Both @AmandaHolden & Alan Carr @chattyman will present our sell-out show on 22nd Nov @RoyalAlbertHall. #Variety4Charity."
Carr hosted the event three years ago at the Royal Albert Hall, but this year will be Holden's first time hosting the talent spectacular.

Holden reportedly commented: "It truly is such an honour to be hosting the Royal Variety Performance this year. I’m still pinching myself! This is a dream job."
Speaking to the Daily Mail, she added: "Alan is a true friend, we are already bursting with ideas and excitement, it’s going to be such a fun night!
"I've worked on Britain’s Got Talent for 18 years and have been so proud watching all our winners perform for the Royal Family."
Meanwhile, Carr told The Sun: "I am completely thrilled to be asked back to host the Royal Variety Performance so soon — what a compliment. It was an honour three years ago and it’s an honour now."

The occasion will be an extra special event for Holden, who will get to see her own golden buzzer Britain's Got Talent act, Sydnie Christmas, performing after she won this year's show.
The TV personality enjoys sharing news and personal updates with fans, but recently she was warned to "be careful" after posting a holiday clip on her social media.
In one of her latest posts, Holden can be seen playing with a stray cat while she and her family have dinner - with one of her daughters being heard in the background asking if they could keep the kitten.
However, while some gushed over the cute video, others expressed concern for the presenter's health, warning her the cat could be disease-ridden.

The family holiday comes soon after Holden's 18-year-old daughter, Lexi suffered a medical emergency, leaving her mother terrified.
The aspiring model was in the midst of her A-levels when she became ill with a bug, and was left with agonising cramps. Despite not being too concerned at first, Holden soon began to fear for her daughter's health.
As her condition worsened, it was shown that Lexi had contracted the rare VTEC strain of E.coli, which is known to be especially aggressive - with the antibiotics which had been prescribed to her stopped working.
Lexi had been just the 113th person in the country to get formally diagnosed with the rare strain of bacteria - but she is now firmly on the road to recovery, The Sun reports.
