Britain’s Got Talent judge Amanda Holden was left begging Simon Cowell not to take part in one act’s performance as his life was put at risk.
The 65-year-old was invited on stage by contestant Kranthi DrillMan as part of a dangerous act involving a sledgehammer and some fruit.
Cowell was asked to lie on the floor surrounded by various sizes of fruit, which DrillMan was then going to smash with the blindfold on.
As the former X Factor judge laid down, he was asked by members of the crew on multiple occasions whether he was still happy to go through with the stunt.
After going back and forth for a while, noting to the crew members: “I don’t know, what do you think?” he eventually settled with staying on the floor and being told to keep completely still.
As DrillMan then smashed his way around Cowell’s body, narrowly missing his body with every hit, he soon made it round to his head, which left Holden and Alesha Dixon unable to look.

Despite crew warnings to remain completely still, Cowell began to move around during the stunt, leaving his fellow judges to scream at him to keep still.
As the last watermelon was smashed, the crew members returned to the stage, shouting at DrillMan to stop as he continued to whack the floor with his sledgehammer.
Cowell was then checked on by Ant McPartlin, who simply asked: “What the hell were you thinking?”
Despite the thrill of the act, DrillMan did eventually receive four buzzers and did not make it through.

During a recent discussion about how he felt in the moment, Cowell admitted: “I genuinely thought my days were numbered.
"The producers on this show just love my pain! There was one point, and I'm not lying, I genuinely thought, 'That's it. It's over'.
"A guy nearly smashed my head in with a sledgehammer. He was slipping all over the place and sweating so much. That's what freaked me out.
When I got up close, I thought, 'My god, his adrenaline's on such a high.' Then it doesn't matter what he's done in rehearsals, he's falling around, he's sweating like that, things could go wrong.
“Amanda and Alesha were not happy. When I looked at them, saw their faces and really were worried."
Fans of the show were equally left gobsmacked by the act, as one penned on X: “Simon trusting that insane man.

“Even if it was rehearsed, putting himself in that position, the man could have smashed his head in, on purpose, in front of an audience.”
“That watermelon man was a f***ing maniac,” someone else said before another added: “No way did production just allow that to happen.”
“That was the scariest and worst act in global got talent history,” a fourth noted before someone else wrote: “There is no way that hammer swinging idiot could not see.” (sic)
