Amanda Abbington has shared a supportive gesture to Adam Thomas' wife Caroline after the Waterloo Road star was eliminated from the contest this past weekend.
Thomas, who'd been partnered with Luba Mushtuk, lost out to Angela Rippon in the dance-off after the judges unanimously decided to save the 79-year-old.
An emotional Thomas, who'd performed the Rumba to his wedding song on Saturday night, bid farewell to his Strictly co-stars and partner Mushtuk during Sunday's results show after overcoming a number of obstacles to make it all the way to Week Seven - including illnesses and a hectic filming schedule.
He follows in the footsteps of Les Dennis, Nikita Kanda, Jody Cundy, Eddie Kadi, and Zara McDermott as this year's eliminated stars while Abbington quit the show for "personal reasons".
Paying tribute to her husband following his stint on the show, the Waterloo Road star's other half penned on Instagram: "And just like that the rollercoaster stops, the incredible highs, the very teary lows, every single second of the past 7 weeks has been a memory in your journey.
"I am so so unbelievably proud of you @adamthomas21 not only the progression we saw you make as a dancer each week but the progression we saw in YOU. All I wanted for you from this experience was for you to come out with your head held high, and my god can you do that."

She continued: "You showed the nation a glimpse of the real Adam, the one we at home know and love, the one behind the smile and laugh. The Adam that puts his all into every challenge he is given, the one who doubts himself constantly and isn’t actually as confident as everyone thinks.
"You have put your whole life on hold for the past 2 months, your heart and soul went into this, you really have lived, slept and breathed every step you took on that dancefloor, no matter how hard it got physically and mentally you would never give up. That in itself is the best example to our babies.
"I’m sad in many ways because I know you had so much more to give, but we’re ready for you to come home now. We need our rock back, their Daddy and my best friend!"
The blogger went on: "I will never forget the feeling I had watching you dance, I’m in awe of you, beyond proud and love you with all my heart. Now what time is your train due in?.. Welcome Home Baby, let’s go live life," she added with a series of love heart emojis.
The mum-of-two went on to address Thomas' partner Mushtuk as she signed off: "To My Darling @lubamushtuk who you will all wonder why I haven’t mentioned is worth far more than a sentence at the bottom of this, Luba love is on its way..." (sic)
Inevitably, it didn't take long for her followers to rush to the comments to praise Thomas and echo the sentiment in his wife's tribute.
And his former Strictly co-star Abbington was just one famous face who decided to pen an emotional message of support as she commented: "Such a beautiful family.
"How wonderful you all are. See you very soon. Love the bones of all of you," Abbington added, followed by a series of love heart emojis.
LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:
The show of support from Abbington comes amid reports of ongoing feuds behind the scenes among some of this year's cast of Strictly.
Abbington, in particular, faced feud rumours with her own partner for the series Giovanni Pernice after she omitted him from her farewell statement - even though he'd penned a touching tribute to the star following her decision to quit.
The Sherlock star may no longer be participating in Strictly but she has made a return to work following her exit.
