A Place in the Sun expert Laura Hamilton looked back on one particular moment she remembered whilst filming the Channel 4 series which saw herself and the guests having to stop filming as they left the keys to a Florida property locked inside.

Hamilton - who has had a lot of success rates with her potential buyers - was forced to abandon a tour of the Floridian home and return the following day, noting it was "a bit of a disaster.

"There was once an episode that I did where, unfortunately, the keys for the property got locked inside the property, and we couldn't film it. That was a bit of a disaster.

"It was in Florida, but that was so many years ago. So we had to call a wrap on that and then show them the property the next day, which wasn't obviously ideal. But it was just one of those things."

She continued to The Sun: "It was kind of like, who's got the keys? Oh, God, you know, imagine that thing that kind of happens at home. Who's got the keys? Who's got the keys? And it was like, oh my God, the keys are inside."

The revelation comes after Hamilton recently gave an update on her blood disorder ITP (Immune thrombocytopenia) and recently showed her followers how it can affect her day-to-day life.

Taking to Instagram, Hamilton posted an image of her legs covered in bruises and captioned the post: "This is ITP! Just a little flair up this week. But you won't see it under my dress for filming. #itp #autoimmune #itpawareness." (sic)

This isn't the first time that Hamilton has spoken about the disorder, and previously admitted she used to refuse to cover her bruises while filming the Channel 4 show.

She previously told the Daily Star: "I have something called ITP, Immune thrombocytopenia, which is low platelet count in my blood, it's quite an unknown disease.

"It sort of flares up and down depending on what's going on with my life, and stress often brings it out."

After 12 years on the show, Hamilton recently told GB News about the hardest thing she has to deal with when filming away for the popular Channel 4 series.

She explained: "I've, you know, I've had to miss out on things back home because I've been away. That's probably the biggest sort of compromise I've sort of had to make.

"The fact that we go back and we revisit people, you know that you're making a big difference in somebody's life when they're filming the show with you, but then when you actually go back and revisit it just to see really how things have changed. That's pretty special."

She also opened up about how much she missed her friend and co-star Jonny Irwin after he died of cancer.

"We are a family at A Place in the Sun, both for everyone in front and behind the camera. And lots of us have worked together for years. So although we might not see each other all the time, we regularly chat and we do message each other.

We do keep up to date. I mean I'm flying out to Spain next week - I'm actually filming for the next couple of weeks - and I'm going to meet with Jasmine [Harman].

"Last time I was in Spain, a couple of weeks ago I saw Jas and her family again – we are very close. Our kids hang out. So yeah, we are we are very close. Jas and I in particular obviously were sort of closest to Jonnie.

"So having done the show as long as we have… So yeah, we reminisce a lot."
