'The Advent messages are designed to give our viewers a short pause in the day'

GB News is to air a series of short inspirational messages from religious figures in the run-up to Christmas.

The GB News Advent Calendar, which will launch on Sunday, is a series of 24 Advent reflections with a distinctly spiritual message.

Ben Briscoe, Head of Programming and Talent at GB News said: “Although the Christmas season starts earlier and earlier each year, Advent was traditionally a quiet season of preparation for Christmas, with a fairly solemn tone of anticipation.

“In the midst of festivities, as well as the good news and bad, the messages are designed to give our viewers a short pause in the day and an opportunity to reflect on the true meaning of Christmas.”

Those participating in the GB News series include the Rev Marcus Mak, who is the Associate Vicar of St Michael’s Newhaven and St Leonard’s Denton
