A care support worker urged politicians Rishi Sunak, Keir Starmer and Nigel Farage to spend a day seeing the hard work she does for just £12.50 per hour

GB News viewers and listeners have praised a guest for "representing hard-working people" as she shared her views on GB News Breakfast's The People's Voice today.

With one day to go before the 2024 General Election, two voters explained how they had decided who they would vote for.

Care support worker Michelle Chisholm, who intends to back Reform UK, said she thought Keir Starmer "doesn't know what working class means".

She said: "Keir Starmer is out of touch. His definition of working class is actually upper middle class - he's not in touch with the people. He's a long way off what's actually going on in the real world."

GB News presenter Eamonn Holmes said he thought Michelle made a "good point", but pointed out he has a working class background, but no longer lives in a working class area.

He added: "My pay packet means that I'm definitely not working class, but all my roots, all my instinct is working class."

Michelle replied: "I would love to bring Keir Starmer, Rishi Sunak and Nigel Farage out to work with me for a day as a care support worker.

"See what I do, see what hours I work. I'm not finishing at 6pm on a Friday afternoon. I'm working 60 hours a week for £12.50 an hour. It's a 24-hour-a-day job."

Michelle said she had decided to vote for Reform UK, and proceeded to show a cake she had made with Nigel Farage's face on the front.

Michelle went on to explain her views on immigration and motoring.

Some viewers and listeners soon expressed their support for her remarks, explaining they agreed with her points.

Tim Perks wrote: "The lady is a hero. Well said."

Kim Rye wrote: "I like this woman. She's straight down the middle. Represents all hard-working people everywhere. In fact, I think she should stand for.Reform an upcoming election."

Lizzy Brown wrote: "Loving Michelle....all the reasons perfectly articulated and why British public want change."

Another guest on The People's Voice said she had decided overnight that she would vote for the Labour Party.

Polly Arrowsmith, a marketing director, said: "I was brought up a Labour supporter. I've always voted Labour, apart from I have actually voted Lib Dem - that was a completely wasted vote. I feel it's a tactical vote now."

However, she said she had been deliberating over who to vote for as she didn't think the policies were "particularly strong".

She said: "I think they've watered down a lot of the policies. I think there's a lot of questions to be asked about the manifesto - whether they can deliver or not. But I will say that about the other parties - Tory and Reform."
